Default might have gone a bit overboard on this custom buggy

this project started with a ebay auction of 5 gold pan rc10 chassis (i needed a good gold chassis)

well the lot had the clean factory gold tub i needed and a bunch of cut down chassis as well

so i dug into the parts pin and found enough parts to build a buggy

with this build i started out just wanting to do a chassis that matched the early 90's color style (florescent black light reflective)

well after to many trips to the hobby store while a bit buzzed i came up with this crazy thing

guess it fits the color scheme

Wow, dat's crazy man!  Must've looked high and low for those parts. The colors!

Default RE: might have gone a bit overboard on this custom buggy

it will be run on road with a 3.5 t brushless

and im limited on wheels

it has 1/4 rear axles

i was luck enough to have some old hpi 12mm hex adapters that fit the 1/4 axles

but the lhs had nothing in a buggy rim for a 12 mm hex that would not rub the rear carriers

so i had to go with truck rears made by traxxas

they had some b4 ones that might ahve worked but it would have beeen super close

the chassis lot i bought on feepay was to aquire the chassis on the left

all the rest were cut up like the one on the right

and since i have boxes and boxes of new and used rc10 parts

i dug in and striped one down with my sonic parts cleaner to bare alum
then started the build

all parts got 5 good thick coats of fluorescent paint , then 8 coats of gloss clear engine enamel

since the chassis was cut down and im going to be running the heck out of it with a 3.5 turn i need to fab some chassis bracing

after it was all together i fount there was a lot of flex in the brace on the front where i had to cut off the lip so the body will fit on the car

so i made a trip to the lhs today and found the b4 batt brace and the xxxcr front brace to stiffen up the chassis brace i made

and the car justlooked odd with the huge front and rear bumpers but nothing on the side so i bought the rpm side bumpers (wish they were white)

Do you have any shocks you want to sell? I bought a gold pan roller a while back that's missing a rear shock.

i do have a few but the going rate is 30-40$ a pair

the old rc10 stuff is getting expensive

i used to buy boxes of parts for next to nothing and whole cars for 20-30$

now your lucky to get a basket case for under 100$

Yeah I've been looking around and the original stuff is really expensive. Probably just going to buy new instead but figured I would ask. I got my roller for $40 and the missing shock is the only issue. Not too bad.
