Hi Guys,
There is a new product called www.Liquidpel.com . Check it out. Do you think it would work for our Motors , speedcontroller and servos?
I have to email the company. Food for thought!

Hugh's new swallow tail build update:
Pod was shaped from EPS foam & laminated onto bottom deck with 2 layers carbon
Carbon is so good looking & great to work with - almost a crime to paint over it!

RE: RC Surfer
Waterproofing receivers using 3M 270 potting epoxy:
http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-dp270
I use the lexan container and foam packing that the receiver came in to form container for setting receiver in the epoxy.
The epoxy easily releases from the lexan after curing.
I also epoxy in the leads for the servo, esc & bec (if needed).
I use a small piece of antenna tube (orange in picture) to seal the binding hole from the epoxy.
This tube is cut shorter and sealed with silicone after binding with transmitter.
Easy to remove silicone if need to re-bind at later date.

RE: RC Surfer
ALL DONE!! Now the testing begins. I had a short session in small surf, needed to make radio/servo adjustments. The small wave performance was better than expected. I pulled it out after 45 min. i thought I set the lipo cut off wrong; everything checked out okay...still had runtime left! Here is a photo of the internals. This thing is fast!

thats the frist 10 cell lipo i have ever seen,, how did you fit all that in there ,, makes the other boards look like pool toys.
45 min run times that is unheard of , now thats the future of rc surfing

RE: RC Surfer
Hi MJ,
The Leopard Motor has been installed and tested......... Wow huge increase in performance and I'm only using 4S batteries. Runtime is even a little better. Doesn't seem like I am going to add or move any weight around...... really fun modifacation.
It was like stuffing a 427 into a 67 Nova!!!! I had to carve into the firewall to make enough room for the 3674. To make sure the deck still had strength, I installed a balsa support column under the stringer.
As you know, I have been tinkering with a removable/replaceable stuffing tube bearing catrridge ..... kinda hard to explain, but it works great so far.
Here are some photos............ There is something very special in one of the photos....... see if you can find it.

RE: RC Surfer
Unreal you have a signature Phil Edwards Hobie surfboard.
I have an original Ben Aipa mini tanker as my rc rescue board.
Is that a Revo drive shaft you installed in the red board?
Dom you are getting all the waves - Maui is FLAT

RE: RC Surfer
Hugh,
Yup....... A Phil Edwards Model.
Phil custom shaped and crafted this board as a 50th year Birthday present for my friend Kenny Duncan. Kenny and I started surfing in 1960....... sadly he passed away 5 years ago.
Kenny's wife Marsha presented it to me at Kenny's request ...... for safe keeping.
Good eye........... drive shaft from my Revo!!!!! Just fooling around. But my stuffing tube bearing cartridge project is working great...... time will tell.
Thanks,
Larry

RE: RC Surfer
Hugh's new swallow tail build got hollowed out to take engine mount, Leopard, running hardware & deck studs.
Lead sheeting is sandwiched under the carbon inside the whole of the keel. Heavy keel is needed for +6ft waves & GoPro mount.
For me the shaping, glassing, sanding, painting is so much easier & pleasurable than installing all the electronics & hardware.
