Default DerJet Hunter here!

The first Hunter kit arrived today, this is in a UK scheme-such is DJ's attention to detail they delayed shipping a few days to mould UK (shorter) Sabrina's
The model is available with Swiss or UK versions. Putting it side by side on to the Ripmax Hunter you can see plenty of differences. Overall size is about the same, but the fuselage has a completely different shape. Designed by Reto Senn with the view of competing in the 13kg class at this years JWM, it has a scale outline.
The wing features a dropped leading edge outboard of the saw tooth, I'd say the wing section was thinner (but I didn't compare exactly) wing root shape differs.
Tanks are wrap around pair (with air-hole through) and look like a good shape/verses length. Cockpit is scale, good depth and width for a 1/6th pilot. Canopy could slide, I am very impressed with the canopy glass fit. Twin hatches give good access to tanks and turbine.
Excellent markings, with lots of detail.
Retract units are DJ type with legs and wheels to suit.
All linkages are 3mm, airtanks, fittings all provided. The rudder and flaps need hinging. Airbrake includes a ram. Tailpipe is twin walled.

I have a couple of commitments to finish first (inc a Ripmax Hunter!) but will start this soon.

Equipment will be

JetCat P-140RX (we have proved the Ripmax hunter flies on P-100RX-so would this, I thought about a P90RXi, but for scale flying you need POWER!)
JR 8411 wings, JR 3401 Elevators, JR 579 nose steering. Rudder I have not checked yet.
JR DMSS XG-11 with a PB Professional. 2 x Li-Pos. Valves Ultra Precision.

I'm looking for 1/6th scale pilots now.

Dave,

Looks like a nice model. Do you know if the Swiss version will come with at least six hard points and 2 or 4 under wing tanks painted red and white?

DerJet hadn't finished the wing tanks when this was shipped, but I don't know the answer. I'll contact the factory now and ask the question.

I have spoken with the factory, so far the plan is only two tanks and hard points for those, but we are now looking at adding two more.

The thing I have found with DJ is you can request a change. I'm sure if you order one through Eric you can get it sorted

regards

Dave:

Thank you for posting pictures of the first Hunter delivered. We are equally excited about this new jet from DJM. DJM's reputation continues to grow as well as recognition well deserved.

This new Hunter as well as Vampire and Cougar are available in the USA from Der Jet USA. Orders for Hunter may be placed now for delivery in June. Contact Der Jet USA via this thread or email to: [email protected]. We are offering combo pricing with our Cheetah 140ks for the first 10 Hunter's ordered. We will have the new Hawker Hunter displayed at Jets over Kentucky in July.

Hi

I`ve flown Reto Senn`s Prototyp a few weeks ago. A very great Plane! This Hunter flies like the little C-ARF Hawk. Reto has build in a JetCAT P-160. The Hunter is completly overpowerd I think the P100 will be perfect!

Just got the pilot from YT in England.

Even with the P-140RX i'm using, it will be well powered. But scale flying needs that.

Dave,

Thanks for checking with the factory regarding the wing tanks and hard points. I got a quote over the weekend from Eric. I have some additional questions, hopefully you can answer.

What size are the fuel tanks, 3 liters total? Any room for a smoke tank in the fuselage?

Also, looks like the canopy mounting is incomplete. How do you plan to secure the canopy for flight? Will the production kits have rails to allow it to slide and lock in place?

Regards, Ken

Tanks are actually over 4 ltrs total!

Yes, I'm expecting the canopy fixing to be done as std DJM policy. It certainly looks like it was set up to slide. Again, will ask.
I have not decided, all my access will be through the hatches, so canopy/cockpit removal will not be required on the field.

All the servo sockets are pocketed, so servo mounting is easy and quick.

Dave,

Nice addition to the derJet line! But who doesn't like a hunter? [8D]
On my FL Hunter I put all the service points under turbine hatch and its working very well. I don't need to remove the canopy or cockpit at the field, or even for charging for that matter. In fact the only time I've removed it so far is out of curiosity to see how much fuel I have left in the main tank.
Here are a couple pics.

Nice but real shame they didn't get the fade between the blues and white correct....7 out of 10.
Look at this pic and you will see what it should look like.

I am sure this is an oversight as the fade between the white/yellow/orange is good.

Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for your expert points. Yes, Will improve. We need to get the fade between the blue and the white in such a scheme.

Regards,
Jack, DerJet Model.
