Thank's guy's, I appreciate the support. No way I could live with the slop that I had done. Stupid stuff, stitching going past the tape, rib tapes short of the cross tape, I am quite amased that I did this. Nothing like myself and I won't have it. We all fall short of perfection, but what would we fall short of if the goal was less.

Billy, a fellow club member uses some high end auto clear coat, I don't know what it is yet but hisfinishes are superb. I have talked with him about it and its use. When I'm ready he'll get it for me.

And as you have just seen I am much further away from clear coating than I was yesterday. LOL

Robert,
That is a real bummer but I am sure you will be much happier correcting the issue now. Hey it's only time and money

You got that right Anthony. And I fired by boss again today, which I have done numerous times, unfortunately I can't get away from myself.

At this point all you can do is laugh and get on with it.
I kicked myself in the butt for days and couldn't sleep after crashing my Waco. I kept replaying it over in my head and saying I should have done this and done that. Now that it's rebuilt all is right in the world.
Later!!

SIG Stik- it and SIG dope are Certified Coatings which is Aircraft Spruce's house brand of covering supplies. Poly-Tac comes off with MEK and I am sure it will take off the SIG. The big difference from a model and a real airplane is, on the real one, everything is varnished so the glue surface is hardened not open pore wood. You want to use MEK carefully as you dont want to pop glue joints. It has to be real MEK not the "MEK Substitute" they sometimes sell.

I appreciate the insight there TFF. But I do it a little different, after removeing the covering, by pulling a lot-gently, I resand lightly. Then start all over with the Stix-it and fabric. No this isn't the first time I have had to recover, for different reasons. The solvent of the Stix-it does the rest of the work in smoothing out the roughness of the previous glueing.
Everything has been readied for the recover with exception to the turtle deck. I went ahead and sheeted it just to give it a little more strength. With just the aluminum it was a bit soft. There is about an hours worth of sanding left to be done on the deck sheeting. I might get started on the fabric tomorrow afternoon. But I am in no way in a hurry.

I arose this morning with all intensions of finishing up the newly sheeted turtle deck. Which I am in the process of, with a slight delay. I got to thinking this morning while sanding it and decided to to something different. After sanding I covered the deck with fabric, useing Stix-it, shrunk it drum tight, and have used the Stits primer to fill the weave. Applied two coats, which filled the weave pretty good, then wetsanded. Added another and wet sanded, and alas one more and wet sanded. The pic is the finished deck and it is pretty hard and smooth as silk. I just really wanted this to be like the real thing but the aluminum was not getting it like I wanted. I really like how this worked out and turned out, may use this method again for solid surfaces needing support. Gotta clean it up and the fuse is ready for covering. I had some covering left, it measured out perfectly for the wing so I cut it up for it. Will have to wait for more to cover the fuse.

I just recieved the graphics from Cajun RC and I must say they do outstanding work. These graphics had some unusual fonts and a little off color. Denny had to create the fonts himself and it all turned out perfectly. I am attatching a link,http://www.cajunrc.com/Cajun_Graphic...cial/index.htm, for those interested. I ordered a set for the vertical, a set for the cowl, a set for the fuse, a set of Robs name, one for bottom wing and one name for front fuse. The total shipped was 90 bucks, well worth it.

Graphics look good Ace.

Curious....any significance to the choice of letters?

That is going to look so sweet!  I like those graphics.  Mine are on order from Cajun RC.  I assume that is what I can expect?

Can't wait to see it all painted up!

No hurry my man. I want it right not quick. But you already know that. Your Waco is looking sick, I know you will be glad when it's finished.

Sorry Anthony, I can't do anything until the fabric gets here, which should be the end of the week. But, we are going on vacation for the following week. My next build will be a Hostetler plans Jungmeister 29%. I may buy a short kit for it, haven't decided for sure though.

Enjoy your vacation.

The Jungmesiter sounds nice. A buddy of mine built the Gary Allen 33% Jungmesiter and loves it. He said it is the best flying bipe he has owned.

Hmmm... the best flying bipe I have is an Ultimate.  Of course the only other one I have is a H9 Sopwith Camel.

So, you're going on vacation... You lucky dog you!!!

Well I gotta add mine. The best flying bipe I have is which ever one I am flying at that time. I like them all.
