Pushing 50, still have a nagging wife and 2 rugrats. #1 son can out fly me, and #2 son is still trying to learn to fly..loves his cars. where I live is the top end of the west end of the land down under. To pay for my hobby I work at the cinemas was as a projectionist at the worlds oldest operating out door cinema, but now all digital[&o]. Small engine and bike tech during the day and now part time radio Tv tech, no money in repairs any more..

66 year old retired accountant/CPA. I have a T shirt that says ''growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional'' and I live it to the fullest.
I fly just about anything, mix of gas, nitro, electric. Helis and planks, foamies. Been in the hobby about 30 years. Got about that many aircraft.
I'd like to get back into full scale but the money is a deterrent. (Was USAF pilot during Nam)
My rides are Honda Accord (wife's), Toyota Tacoma (Gotta have a pickup in GA) and a Honda S-2000 (My baby only goes out when it's nice)
Other hobbies are ham radio and photography. No golf.

Foxy approves, indeed. Honda's gift to drivers. I will own another one some day, I do love the Civic but for different reasons, I miss the S, there's nothing like driving everywhere at 9000rpm scared pooless that the car could kill you at any moment (AP1 FTEW!)

Ooops sorry hehe 27, NorthEastern Ohio, VERY soon to be married to my dream girl, plans for a kid of our own by 30. I LOVE 1/8 e-buggy, 4X4 CORR, my better half drives a 2wd CORR. Both very competent marksmen (er, people) in archery and firearms, I'm a mechanic of sorts, recently became a self-taught welder, basic fabrication, etc, all from home. I drive beat up 5 spd Rangers and she usually ends up with a nice comfy 4-door. I've flown a 1:1 Cessna for about 60 hours on a series of whims, and while having never lived there, I've seen more of the Caribbean than the states. A man of many talents and even more interests but few masteries. Oh, and Bethesda games. Fallout and Elder Scrolls reign supreme in this household

Been screwin around a lot, side questing, etc, haven't even beaten the main quest line yet hehe Just arrived at Alduin's portal to Sovngarde. Modeled mine after myself, big, mean lookin, shaved head, named Raoul Duke, for all you Fear and Loathing fans Only been at it about 2 months!
Heavy into armoring and enchanting, too, my weapons far exceed my character XD Almost exclusively use bows, name em all in line with my character name, Ether, Ecstacy, Chloroform, etc
Too bad there is no MMPORPG add-on for the game, would be SWEEEEET to join in with other players a la WoW or EQ style!

RE: Interested in finding out average age and demographics of current RCU Users
I'm 51 and I'm addicted to Helis. I've been in the hobby for about 4 years. My grandson got me interested in helicopters because he was into them. We started out with a $30 POS from Best Buy that him and I played with together till it bit the dust. He lost interest but I got addicted. Since then I've owned about 15 or 16 helis (4 of which were POS). I've cleaned out the hanger so now I'm down to a Rush 750, Trex 550 V2, and a Blade 130x. I've dabbled with planks a little bit, in fact I just picked up an Eagle 580 nitro. I drive a Chevy Silverado Z71 that I bought new in 2001 and I'm in the process of gearing it up for "flight", which so far is a nice shell and customized bed designed for carrying my models to the field in style. I'm a 4th gen carpenter with about 52 years experience.
And obviously I tend to talk too much.

RE: Interested in finding out average age and demographics of current RCU Users
55 years. Spend time flying anything from foamies to giant scale. Removed my last nitro from the mix last week. Have switched to gas on anything 40 sized and above and electric on 32 size and smaller. When not flying r/c I fly full scale..ate up ... with anything aviation, have been since I was a kid. Spend rest of my time tending to our club's 900x50' grass strip. This year we tilled, seeded, fertilized and rolled. Grass is really starting to grow. Love this hobby. Fun to read what other people are doing. Good thread.

I know its been done before, but lots of people have left RCU for greener pastures. I am just curious what the average age is of current RCU users, what you run, and what state you live in.
Me I am an old man with the the heart of a kid I am 54, drive mostly nitro, and live in southwestern PA.

redcat rampage xt
zdracing brushless buggy
traxxas jato
trinity NEXT truggy 1/16 nitro
Cen Genisis
I think that is it. Back to real cars, I owned a Ford escort gt powered by a mazda 1.8 with a 5 spd. This car was super great and very reliable. I raced that car so many times, mostly in the twisties. I wish they still made that car, Id buy another tomorrow. It died with 208,000 miles the tranny finally failed. I am still debating on buying the Trans AM, Its a beautiful car, but it is very hard to get my 6' tall frame in and out of. It's great to see all the fly boys responding to this thread, some day I will get the nerves up to try it. I have seen some fantastic flying at our rc air field. You don't have to go to an air show just go to your local rc air field.
Take care

Yea I think I have a few RC's
also had like 2 somewhat cheap helicopters, and an airplane kit (never could figure out how to build it, plus it was bigger then I estimated and I lack room [:@]).
Also got plans to get a 1:36th scale or something cause were gonna be putting hardwood floors in soon to race around

I'm 30, married with an 11 year old daughter. I'm a licensed hairstylist. My RCs are a Baja 5SC and a 'pede 4x4, plus a couple of helis, but I mostly just run the Baja. I am HUGE into motorcycles. My current ride is a '99 ZX9R bored out to 1000cc with a performance cam setup, jet kit, full exhaust and a bunch of suspension mods. I get pretty proud of the fact that I can, by far, break all speed limits without leaving 1st gear.

31 live in Central Valley, CA. Bunch of kids and a wife. Run a 1/5 sct that just blows me away at how much I was missing with nitro! I have had many nitro trucks and a losi buggy. Back in the day my first buggy was the golden arrow!! Man that thing left the Rc bug in my veins and I haven't been able to shake it since. Only thing I would say is irritating about Rc world here is there isn't a 1/5 scale accepting track. Guess I'm going to have to open one!! I have been asking around and on the large scale forum for interested people but seems I may be a Lone Ranger in this area.

I know there are only a few people around that own rc cars/trucks etc. Its crazy in when you 5000 to 10000 people in your town and nobody owns them. The kids around here mostly have atvs. ZX 9 is a nice bike. I had the chance to buy a zrx 1100 for 3500.00 it was mint, but my bad back kept me away. Ishould have just bought it anyways and just parked it, and took it out on days I was feeling good. That bike was awesome. I tuned a GS 1000 for a guy You peg the speedo in 1rst gear. It only had a 85mph limit speedo but the bike was still scary fast!!!
