The X-8 kit was initially designed for fpv flying. Its available at hobbyking or bevrc.com.

Hi,
It looks like a fun project . I checked Hobby Kings website and found it there under gliders. What I´m curious about is your landing gear. Homemade or avalible from the hobbytrade? Did you paint yours black or was that a standard option?
Cheers
/Pete

Hi Pete,

the gear is a cheap servoless electric gear. I need to replace it. It is of very poor quality. Now that I know the X-8 flies well its time to invest in a high quality gear set. I also added some electric spoilers to the wings. They are necessary for landing. The X-8 will not land without the spoilers...unless I shut down the engine. The spoilers add a lot of drag and now its easy to land with the engine running.

Hi Fulps,
It looks like a future projekt for my T25 Kolibri.
I might omit the landing gear and hand launch it instead, but the airbrakes on the wing looks like a good idea.
Thanks for sharing.

A picture of the installation will follow soon. I have to change the front gear.It was too weak and needs to be exchanged. I also think about to use a gyro for directional control on ground. Smoke is a good idea I also thought about adding some drop bombs....i keep you informed
