making new gearing for LL and its direct drive ,,, right to left 30 , 31, 33 , 38 , which needs center hole cut to fit diff out drive cups and 22 bell which needs moded to accept clutch bearings .

Those gears are going to give you a dang good selection to go by. I just picked up some axial 22t cb on ebay for a reasonable amount and there is no modding needed to make it work.

If you mean my engine, then yes it is modded. In terms of truck, no where near as modded as yours but I agree, go big or go home!
What clutch setup have you decided to run with your setup?

Hi all. I would be very interested in knowing how you are going to build a direct drive and what gears you are going to use. Also the parts source for your gears. Would you still have the tranny box in place or what? I learn something new everyday. Thanks.

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
Hey I'm still trying to best myself everyday, in fact I just gained 10-20% more top end today hehe
Me, I'd post a video showing progress, you never know, help could come from it. I didn't get to the speed I'm at without help from a few people.

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
Holy a 15-20% gain in topend? That is on your truck that is getting close to 74mph already? That is awesome, that should put you at "Back to the future"speeds 88mph, can't wait to see the video of that. You had troubles controlling it at 74mph, at 88 you will be all over the place I imagine? When are we going to see the video of that? The 20% topend gain?

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
Haha 88mph would be nice but it wont happen in a single engine platform. There will be a video soon
No I am not using anything special for my throttle linkage, just the Ofna throttle mod.

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
Let me see 15-20 % gain especially on the top end would mean higher speeds ,,,, right and skillett you just stated you show your progress by showing video ,,, to get ideas from others now who is calling the kettle black ,,,, just saying ,,, and im not trying to start any debate with you . My truck is completely different than anyone else and i do have help from others you are more than welcome to add your input . as far as throttle and brake my truck" LL" uses all stock Savage parts except the brake disc is titanium. o and tricks are for KId'S

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
You're right your truck is completely different and that's why I ask to see it running, cause its different. It's not like you and I copied someone else when we built them.
As for my new mod, I haven't tested it yet but what it's going to do is increase top end by 15-20%. Now wether or not it produces more speed is left to be determined. At these speeds I'm at there are to many things that must synk in order to go faster, if they don't you don't go faster.
When you break past 65 you'll start to see what I'm talking about, the savage was definantly not meant to go fast lol

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
Hey Skillet,
Do you remember that video on YouTube with a twin engine Savage making some runs and there was a guy holding the radar gun and was waving it everywhere? You even left a message talking smack to them cus you are getting more speed on a single engine.
Well on that video, the dude holding the radar gun I think that is Mark Davidson, I think he holds the record for the fastest 1/10 nitro rc car at 120mph.
I cant believe that he cant put his ideas on that twin savy to hit higher speed runs.
