Yes I am concerned about that as well that is why I am looking for other mufflers that wouldn't involve a lot of hacking of the cowl. (Have you looked at other options for the one that you're building with the american markings and a G-62?)

Perhaps Jtec's side dimension is less than that of the slimline or bennett.

last year a Joe Nall my Wrap-a-round pitts muffler broke. Al was there from J-tec. He gave me a side dump muffler to use. I was concerned about the noise. After a few passes I was suprised that is was no louder than the pitts muffler. In fact my engine picked up a few more rpms. So I kept the side dump instead of getting my replacement pitts muffler. (Thats Al)
We all know how strict they are at Nall about noisey planes. They have never said anything about mine.

The J-tec is smaller than the Bisson muffler

I run the T-6 prop and it is a quiet prop to start with. . I'm please with the combo. Plus it's FAAASSST!

BTW the WRONG prop is the noisiest part of a plane

I have had poor results with 3 j-tec mufflers All 3 developed cracks and came loose!!!
I have too. (2of them) That is the main reason I kept the side dump muffler. His pitts muffler break easily. Then we get blamed for not installing it right.
I think that we heard the same recording. I have no problem with my Slimline so far. Looking forward to Joe Nall!!!!!

Isn't ludicrous speed where one goes "plaid?"

The Jtec fits perfect....had a belly landing last november and the muffler flange was slightly bent, enough to leak and cause the engine to start running lean

Just got the Robart conversion kit for my leaky gear today. Took 2 months. Will be converting to electric operation like my Corsair which has never let me down.

Hey guys I got about 10 flight so far and all I can say is good thing, I was worred becouse of the landing gear but it fly just as good as my Top Flite P51

I showed you guys how Ihid the swiches under neath the little fiberglass peace that attaches to the rear of the cowl.

Well I lost it today, my cowl came a little lose and It came off to the unknow.

Anyone have an exstra they want to sell?

I would hate to spend $50 for a whole new cowl to get this little part.

Why not just make a replacement out of balsa? It's a small part.

I always just google for a pilot...there are always some out there. I mainly go with the GI Joe figure, Blue Box, or Dragon.

Just got one of the APC T-6 Pylon Props to try out on mine. I have a DA 60 on it and this combo should be fast!

You guys are really tempting me to get that prop! Ready for maiden. Just have to wait for the wind to calm down this weekend. Ran the G-62 earlier with the Mejzlik 22x12 at around 6,700rpm.
