I bought it at the LHS in my area. I bet you can find it in electronic cataloges and possibly Radio Shack. Great product...It also comes in different colors as well.

Here are some photos of how the wires look in the fuse. Not finished yet but getting there. It's like fitting 10 pounds in a 5 pound sack!
As you may be aware, my mother is in Italy for a few weeks and she has entrusted me with her dog Nina. I had to go to the LHS today and Nina got into the firplace (no not on) and played in the ashes...needless to say she is no longer pure white! Hope mom likes grey dogs...

Oh yeah! E-Power! I like them. They set up a booth at the IMAA event at Castle AFB (or used to be AFB until the president shut it down). Come the end of May I'll pick some up there. Thanks for the tip!
Take care,
David

I got the snakeskin for my Extra for $.25 a foot at the electronic surplus store in Manchester, NH. They do a mail order biz as well. It weighs nothing and you can tack the harness down to the airframe with small dots of Welder's glue, which will hold it but still allow you to pull it up if necessary. http://www.esssurplus.com, 603-624-9600

Well I'll be... what no royalties? LOL
My list of things to complete is getting shorter by the day. Starting at the nose and working my way back to the tail, Ichecked and double checked every nut and bolt. Before removing the cowl I looked at the gap between the spinner and cowl and made notation of how much I needed to move the engine back to get the gap I was looking for. If you remember, I used an aluminum motor mount that has slots in eachbeam that allows the engine to be moved forward or backward easily. With the engine moved back, I removed the engine bolts that go through the firewall and I put some blue threadlocker on the threads of eachbolt and reinstalled them to correct torque. Muffler bolts as well as throttle and choke linkages were checked before the cowl was reinstalled.
Moveing my way rearward I made sure that all of the servo bolts were tight and thatall servo arms had their respective plastic lock nuts on them... All of the inside harness workhas been completed and I labeled all of the servo leads that go to the aileron and flaps with a size font that I could easily see without my glasses!

SDP, What's wrong with the arms that I'm using?
Paddcat1 I haven't balanced it as of yet, on my short list of must do's. I tried to put as much of the weight up front during the build as I anticipated it to be a tail heavy bird. Right now she's weighing in at 12.4 pounds (without the top flying wires).

VJ,
Have you ever tried the Nord-Lock bolt securing washers? I bought some to try on my Cub. Haven't put then into use yet, but just tightening them up and loosening, you can tell they work.

RE: Sig Ryan STA
I take it then you have seen them. But just in case anyone wants to see them, here is a rather.... uh... well... boring video that demonstrates them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgwmuZuJ02I

I would hate to see all your work go down because of arm failure on the elevator.

Vinnie, Vinnie, Vinnie, I have Nordlocks in every size from M3 to M14, I thought I bored you by now with all the praising I do for them. How many do you need? I do not have the "muffler falling off" issue everyone else has. I should have taken the cowling off at the meeting and showed them to you on the exhaust header and engine mount fasteners.

RE: Sig Ryan STA
Vincent,
I have finally finished reading and taking notes on your Sig Ryan build. Quite impressive, I must say. About a week ago I was lucky enough to obtain a already built Sig Ryan. A plane i have admired, and wanted for some time. The person that built it apparently flew it but did not complete the whole plane. He left off all of the plastic parts except for the head rest. I am now in the process of uncovering it and I will be rebuilding it making much needed improvements.
I was fortunate enough to get everything from the kit. Plans, box, instruction book, and all the parts that the kit came with for a great price of $100.00. [img][/img]
Hope to hear soon that you have maidened yours. With all the work and time you have into it your knees will sure to be knocking when you do. Good Luck when the time comes.
I love the Sig kits. My last was the Hog Bipe which was a great kit.
Here are some pics of the Ryan being stripped and I included a couple of the Hog.

Thanks Tom, you were lucky indeed to get that kit at such a bargain price. Good idea to strip it so you know what your dealing with. One suggestion, would be to see what the previous builder used for hinges. If he used the supplied plastic hinges I would caution against using them and upgrade to a better hinge. Since the coverings off now would be the time.Another thing you may want to consider is to add shear webbing between the ribs to give some much neededstrength to the wing spars since the builder probably usedthe balsa spars supplied in the kit. This thread is pretty comprehensive in whatI did on mine, but if you need any assistance all you need to do is just ask. Good Luck andyour Hog looks terrific!
Your right Gary I now remember you saying that you used the Nord Locks...but I guess I never saw them. I'll take six, four for the bolts to firewall and two for the muffler. I'll get you the bolt sizes. Thanks!

RE: Sig Ryan STA
Yes it looks like it is, but 2 inch is not a size usefull for RC planes, not even a 42% Dalton, and the small stuff is expensive because they want you to buy 25 feet. The white stripe on the black snake skin Vinnie and I used means it is fire retardant. Just call that surplus store I listed and buy 10 feet for $2.50.
