Powerfail
Hello,
Just got back from a jet event with a bent F20 Tigershark. My jetcat 160 SE went Dead Stick 5 minutes into the firstFlight and i overshot the runway. [ My Fault ]
The Engine is Gas start and i run a NIMH 2400 pack. Fully charged3 days before flight. 8.4 volts. Pack is 18 months old with little use.
Start and run up fine. After stopping , voltage was 7.4 Volts
I have looked at the data and voltage drop went down to 7.2 volts in flight during a couple of timeson verticals. I was cruising when the engine stopped
I do take responsability as i should have charged the day of the flight.
Now, that i amfixing the jet please advise what i should replace.
My plan is to now use a new7.4 volt lipo 4400 mha pack.
Could there be an issue with the Data cable ?
As the Tigershark is long, could the long distance of the power cable made a differance ?
PS
This is my 4th Jetcat, and i am more than happy with all of them
Regards
John

RE: Powerfail
For receiver/servos I use 2 A123 (redundant) packs without voltage regulators and have had zero problems in two years. I personally don't like NIMH packs. A123 are easy to charge, balance and check for voltage and balance before each flight.

RE: Powerfail
Hello,
There was no problem with the receiver battery,s. Looking at the Data the NIMH pack was fairly stable at 7.2 Volts during flight.
Hello Matt,
Where do i find Off Condition. I will try to send you the Data when i can.
Is there a specific voltage the ECU shuts down at ?
Regards

No Luck Confirming issue so far, Battery Voltage not perfect , but ok at 7.2 volts under load. Cut the Battery open today and it was in Perfect Condition. Leads so far all tested ok. Fuselage repair going well.RegardsJohn
