I'm standing by just in case someone decides to get upset and bent out of shape over the discussion of oil?
I think you have FAILED to see that one already has.

Oh and BTW OldRookie, I heard a guy say something very intelligent one day and it has stuck with me since.
And I quote: ''Math has been working for centuries''
They are practically telling you the ratio on the side of the container. LOL

w8ye...You talk like you think you are a smart guy....here are some pics of the bottle. You said "They are practically telling you the ratio on the side of the container.".
Please point out how you could determine the oil to gas ratio from the info on the bottle for all of us watching this post.

Oh...and as far as doing the math....256oz gas to 6.4 oz of oil (w8ye that would be 2.0 gal just to make it easy for you)...256/6.4=40:1....320oz gas to 6.4 oz oil ( w8ye that would be 2.5 gal just to make it easy for you)...320/6.4=50:1...This is all very simple stuff for most of us, but I included it just for you.

My intentions of pointing out that there is NO information about the mix ratio, when this product is mixed with the specified amount of gas. I thought this was odd, and just pointed it out.

I don't know how, but a Stihl fan boy like you feels it necessary to defend Stihl. Double what I said in my PM to you.
Have a good life....HA

I ran Amsoil Saber (40-1) with nolead gas, last year in 4 DLEs and inspecting them a month ago, I had good deposits on all engines with the exceptionof the 20cc. I am going to try the Stihl this season. I will find out later how well it works.

You figure the oil ratio on your own by doing the math.

They can not control how you mix your oil?

Well Oldrookie since 3.2 oz per gallon is 40:1, 6.4ozper 2 gal is 40:1, it sounds like 6.4oz per 2.5 gallons would be about 50:1.
Why on eartth are you making this so hard. Dump the bottle in the tank and put in the specified gas and go flying.
Have you seen lawncare professionals at the gas station trying to read the fine print on their oil bottles while mixing their gas?
Get a grip dude.

What is with you people. Did they let all of you off the short bus earlier today?

Go back up to post #51. I dumbed it down for you people, and challenged w8ye to show us all where he is getting the mix ratio from the bottle.
It also explains why I posted this to began with. It had nothing to do with confusing mix ratios.
You are another one of those people that ask questions that were answered a couple of posts ahead of your question. You do know how to read?right?

I know how to mix my oils without any kind of hand holding of the bottle.
That fact that the bottle contains 6.4 ounces of oil and it says to mix it with 2.5 gallons of gas says it all.
I think you need to go back to school sir.

Hey guys................Why do so many posts wind up in a slug fight with some of you getting your panties in a wad? Geeeeeze poeple!

Info on Stihl oil..................

The orange bottle is their preimum petroleum oil Which is great oil. It's been around for years
The silver "Ultra oil" is their best oil & is total synthetic.

2.6 oz bottle is for one gallon at 50:1 ratio
5.2 oz bottle is for a two gallon at 50:1 ratio
6.4 oz bottle is for a 2.5 gallon mix at 50:1
12.8 oz bottle is for five gallon mix at 50:1

How do I know the above? I am a full line Stihl dealer of over 41 years!

To answer the original poster, the HP Ultra is the best or maybe I should say one of the best (so as not to start another squabble) oils to use in most engines requiring a mix. We are currently turning up a couple of our chain saws at 16,500 rpms with no issues. This oil has many additives & also a stabilizer in the oil.

Just as important as the oil is the quality of the fuel used, but that's for another day...................

All Stihl products are mixed at 50:1 (using Stihl oil) & if you want to mix at a certain ratio, see post # 56 & click his link or Google a mixing chart. It's not hard to do or figure out......................

All these ratios are based on fluid ounces which is actually a volume measurement and not a actual weight measurement.

A gallon of gasoline is 128 fluid ounces but if one of you go to measure what it actually weighs you will find the net weight to actually be close to 96 ounces.

So to divide (2 X 128) by 6.4 you get 40.  That means 40:1

or to divide (2.5 X 128) by 6.4 you get 50. That means 50:1

what gets me is ITISNOTTHATHARD or is it

good thing it is not still 16/1 there would be a hole nother post

Here are some pictures showing what a engine looks like after using Stihl Ultra HP oil for 500+ hours in a engine.

Wonder which one of those on the right is Amsoil?
Say want you want about Amsoil, I've been using it in all my engines since 1985, running it at 1.5 to the gal. about 90-1 I fly these engines every year and fly them hard, so far not one problem

Ok gentlemen, let me step in here for a second. You all may notice that a bunch of posts have just disappeared, and that is because I have removed them. Let me lay this out in plain clean english. If you CANNOT discuss an issue here on RCU without resorting to insulting, degrading, attacking, or putting down those that you don't agree with then you should simply refrain from entering into the discussion. It's just that simple guys. If you can't discuss this matter like mature and civil adults then your posts are going to be removed, for a start. And if this behavior continues then I can take further actions. But these childish little attacks that I'm seeing are going to stop. It's entirely up to you how we proceed from here.

For those that this does not apply to I apologize for having to post this. But unfortunately the actions of some have required me to take this action.

It was just a joke. I have a couple of friends, one is an ASE master engine mechanic, who use Amsoil with good results.

I've been curious about why modelers using gas engines for airplanes continue to seek using LESS oil at more expense?  Do we do that for our lawn equipment?  Just curious....  I don't have the popcorn eating deer to post here....
I thought the idea of using gasoline engines in our airplanes was enjoying the benefits of "inexpensive gas/oil mixtures" ????
