Oh so we're dangerous are we! Just you wait!!!!
Anyhow, for those not about to die, a little more information...
To many years ago to think about, I started on a set of plans for the World War One MK1 Tank. Although not fully finished, I decided along with the boys that an RC version would be nice... 1/16 scale was a possibilty, 1/8 would be good... and then we thought 1/6 would be cool so let's do that!
It meant after teaching myself CAD I now had to tackle 3D... but I like a challenge. Now I'm not saying I'm necessarily doing it right, or know what I'm doing, or how some of the stuff happened, but I like the results and really not interested in the techy side.
Well this is screen images of the 3D Tank. Should give you a better idea of how it's going to be motorised.
I will post again later about the plastic parts which I'm making on my brothers Makerbot 3D Printer... drives me to mentalness but the results will save a fortune when it comes to getting them made in metal.

Thanks for putting those photos up Rob,
Nice show today at Beale Park, chatted with some interesting people. Here's a photo showing the MK1 sitting behind the landingcraft display.

hi guys once again with a small but large up date, the start of the aluminium skin that will cover the whole tank . they were done the same way as the ply which was laser cut plus all the holes for bolt and rivets . in the last pic is the lady who has done all the hard work to get the tank this far.

Most excellent!
Perhaps could market through Mark-1 Tanks...
I remember another MKI in 6th scale some years ago by a lady who went by 'Red Sonja'.

I'd buy one if they don't ask a ridiculous price for them..If they could keep it to around $1500 U.S. or under would be awesome..

RE: sixth scale ww1 mk1 tank
I have seen an all metal MK1 tank... but never managed to find out anything about the model or the builder. That could be the one. Shame as I would have loved to find out what she did for track.

Regarding the all metal build, it's1/10 & the track pretty basic considering of aluminum profiles - looks like door threshold - screwed onto bicycle chain. I used to have the build thread bookmarked but lost it when I upgraded to a new notebook. I'll send you photos that a friend of the builder sent me & will ask again for the site info.
In the meantime, enjoy the movie. Its not the same one - this is a 1/35 scale conversion- but what the heck, still fun to watch. [8D]

Helen,
Have you considered some accessories for your Mk series tank? I've always been a fan of some of the early technologies that were deployed during The Great War & think wireless would be an interesting feature for your excellent build. Don't think you'll have any problem with putting on the tracks correctly.

Hi Chuck,
Accessories!!!!! Just be happy if I finish it right now!
I think I will leave conversions to others. Although a bomb disposal version is tempting, with a crane but the sponsons and almost all the fittings missing... nice and simple.
"Actually' I've put the track on my model backwards a number of times... easily done and I know this tank inside and out.
