RE: because it says so
That stuff sounds scary to run at a 70:1 ratio of fuel to oil 1.8 ounces per gallon.
I don't know.
I wonder if it will carbon uo the engine more if you run it at more regular oil ratios like 32:1 or even 25:1 like I do with some engines with bushed rods.

But it depends on whose standards you want to go by. That standards stuff all seems to be marketing stuff, everyone claims their oil is the best according to some standards organization.

My Johnson 120hp v4 VRO outboard that runs between 60:1-70:1 while at low throttle settings and richens up at high throttle to 50:1. It doesn't care what oil is in it, it runs the same no matter what.

Been running it in my chainsaw, leaf blower, and string trimmer. Also in all my gas engines in my airplanes. Iv'e been using it since it first came out, 10+ years ago? I use it as directed by the manufacturer of the oil. I have had no problems and my engines stay very clean inside. Oil deposit is minimal on the aircraft. My airplane engines include, Zenoah, Quadra, Sachs, Kioritz, Turnigy, Rcgf, Crrc. I do add a capful of Marvel Mystery oil, to each gallon of fuel mix. Been doing that since my motorcycle racing days years ago. I like Opt2 oil, give it a try.

A lean oil ratio should not scare you if you use an oil designed for it.
I'm sure this will ignite a war but here goes. I have used Amsoil 100:1 at 75 to 85 to one for 15 or more years. No problems. My 1984 Weedwacker still runs today with no maintenance or repairs other than a spark plug 6 years ago.
All my gas planes, both 30cc and 50cc use this mix. they run great and show no wear or deposit buildup. I'm sure there are many good oils out there but for me Amsoil works. Use what works for you.
The oil percentage battle began many years ago with Glow Fuel. Don Nix (I hope I spelled his name correctly) put it best in a Powermaster Fuel Article many years ago. He stated that it was not the quantity of the oil but the quality of the oil that mattered. Well said Don!

2.5 gallons mixed with 3.2 oz of oil...thats 100:1...ill never go that route again...40:1 is as lean as ill ever go

well I got my Email back, the guy wanted me to call him, he didn't answer any of my questions in the Email, all he had to say was to read what others that have used it have to say about the oil, I did ask about mixing it at 32:1 and he said no, you may get into tuning problems at that ratio
BTW, as for mixing at 70:1, I know a guy that is happy mixing Amsoil 100 at 70:1 and this is for a Zenoah heli engine that runs somewhere around 11,000/12,000

it runs the same, sorry, but that doesn't tell us much

What I meant to have said; My giant outboard runs the same on synthetic oil as it does on mineral oils, except it smokes less on synthetic. The piston crowns and spark plugs always have a light film of oil on them, and carbon build-up has been minimal using Amsoil Dominator. The mineral oil I was using beforehand was Johnson/Evinrude TCW-3 Injector oil and the cost was the same as the Amsoil. A normally smokey engine, It smokes much less on the synthetic, so I stick with it. It runs about $33 a gallon at Napa.
Its not exactly an apples to apples comparison being water cooled, but its the best experience I have with the stuff. I have used both mineral and synthetic in my lawn equipment and ice auger, but I noticed little to no difference between the two oils. Using a little castor in the gas mix gives it a nicer smell once burned.

notice what it says .. ""the highest rating available in the stringent International Standards Organization global performance ratings system""
that's a pretty big statement, they are goind to have to prove that one
