Default Bubble jett tanker mod

So I've never been happy with the fuel line at the end of my tanker flopping around in a dirty flight box. And in my typical fashion of making things more complicated than necessary, I made the following:
No more rolling off the table at the flying field, keeps the end of the fuel line clean and a couple of spare plugs to cart around.
Sorry had to show someone and the Wife doesn't seem to appreciate the R/C trinkets like me.

So tell more.  Is it made out of nylon?  Is it just a slip fit?  What did you use to cut it?  Nice hole did you drill it or machine it?  I am just curious.  Thanks.  I appreciate it.

Its made out of Delrin, slip fit, had to take off the Jett stickers so it would slide over. Made it on my newly acquired Tormach cnc mill. Considered getting one for a long time and finally found a used one. Super steep learning curve but I think its the most awesome tool ever conceived by man. I can send the CAD or STL file if anyone wants it.

I have some material left and easy enough to make a few more if someone is interested.

Here is what the 3D CAD drawing looks like. Pretty simple really although a little tricky getting the ID correct as the fueler dimensions are not consistent along the length.
I've been playing around with Cubify invent, pretty cool and cheap 3D cad program.

You could cut an o-ring groove in the ID and let the o-ring hold the block in place. This might also help keep the fueler tight in the middle as they sometimes get a little loose if you don't keep fuel in them for a period of time.

Nice work by the way.

Vicman, thats a pretty good idea although I think I would have to open the ID a little more which would make it kind of floppy, for lack of a better description. Have to think about that. Right now its snug enough that you can feel the orings slide past so it tightens up the tube a little.

dasintexm,
Sent you a pm.

I understand what you are saying and you are most likely right on if you got it tight enough to hold in place. Two o-rings .1 down from the top and bottom would keep it from flopping around.
The trick is determining which size o-ring to use and easily obtained.

Pm received and responded to.

Great mod! love it... May I have a copy of the stl file please? I will have a crack at running up similar on my home CNC... I might also see if I can incorporate a hook somewhere, so it's easier to carry aircraft/tx/flight box & fueler out to the start line...

Dude, got it in the mail yesterday. Haven't mounted on the tanker yet but it looks like a great idea.

Thanks

Vic
