Yes the wings are small considering the size of the airframe. You could try changing the position of the nosewheel just a bit to raise the nose a little.

I'll try that the next time I fly her. My pilot lost it's head in the last flight so I order two new pilots from Aces of Iron. Sorry you have to wait three more weeks to fly her.

I really want to convert to electric will it be hard.can you do anything to the canopy to get easy access for installing batteries.

One of the guy at our field flies one of these on a Motorfly motor with 6s-5000 pack. I think it's a perfect candidate for electric conversion, more so than the 120 size PC-9 I have.

The belly hatch cover between the wings allows easy access to the battery, which has to be at the wing section to balance the plane.

And he also left the rear receiver battery hatch cover off as air exit to cool the electronics.

Everything just seem perfect about this plane for electric conversion!

I did the maiden flight today. It was only a five minute flight because the rain was coming fast. It started right after I landed.

The plane flew amazingly well! I just had to add 2 clicks at the upper elevator trim and it was flying perfectly. Takeoff was very easy and I didn't had to use rudder at all. I used a MAS 15x8 2 blade. I'll fly with this prop a few tanks during the break-in and then I will start to try a 15x12 APC and 14x9 MAS 3 blade. I also want to try a 13.5 x 13.5 carbon 3 blade from Engelmt. The plane weight 4.7 kg and I had a pulling force of 5.43 kg.

Landing was also VERY easy, I was surprised. I set flaps 15 and 45 degrees and didn't have to set elevator compensation. It landed slow and easy.

I will fly it again next weekend.

Isn't it a beautiful plane to fly! It flies real nice with the 15x8 prop but recently I tried the 16x8 and flew well, the only problem there is the low ground clearance. I just purchased a 15x8 three blade prop to try out but need to wait, I forgot to buy the three blade cone to go with it.

Well, It's the fastest model I ever flown but I'm only used to glow high wing models. I expected it would be faster. It probably will after I tune the engine.

I did 5 flights this weekend. It really flies very well, but not so fast. But I still have to tune the engine properly. I should test the 15x10 next time.

rlbomber, did you set your flaps? Mine is extremely easy to land. My engine went down due to empty tank and I was able to land it perfectly.

BTW, how long are your flight? I first set my radio alarm to 10 min and it went empty. Then I set to 8 min. And I am not using open throttle all the time.

Guijs, yes she is very easy to land but does come in very fast without the flaps. I fly off of a dirt runway so I don't have any grass to slow her down. I've only been using about 25 - 30 percent flaps.

I actually had the throttle linkage come off on me during one of my flights and she was stuck at half throttle. Since I put the electronic cut off switch in I was able to line her up with the runway and kill the engine once lined up. She floated in beautifully with no bad tendencies.

The one bad thing if I were to complain is that the fuel tank is very small. If this was a nitro plane the flight time would be much less than it is now, probably only about 5 minutes.

hello all.
Ive just bought and started building this model. Being from Australia, all my fellow club members fly the PC9 model, so i wanted something different!!!
Im going full digital servos with DLE20 up the front.

After trying to research about the fuel tanks and stoppers etc etc... Ive decided to buy a Sullivan heavy duty fuel stopper. Im hoping this will fit the stock tank.
I see user ceecrb1 was using a Hayes tank, I did find some around the place but stores would have the tank and no hose or stoppers to suit petrol (i wanted to buy all components from one store). What have other users, used with the a petrol engine conversion? if the Sullivan stopper does not work, I don't know what I will do????!!! Also, what have u guys done with the breather line?? there isn't much room up in that nose!!!

Hi Aussieace246, I have this bird with the DLE 20 in her, I also fitted the engine with a pitts style muffler. Dubro do a gas stopper that fits the standard size fuel tank bungs, its is brown in colour. and should be available from most hobby stores This bird does not fly like a pc-9. it is way more slippier and is a rocket with the DLE 20. you will love it. the standard set up for the retract is a pain so I installed eflite large triset of retracts. you will end up having to put the batteries in over the fuel tank to make her balance so I used eneloops for both the flight(6v)and ign(4.8) pack. it is a tight fit but they do go . if you have ay questions send me a message

Thanks for the reply mate. I have just ordered all the necessary components to convert her to petrol 2 stroke! Im just not sure how to route or where to mount the vent line?
Im going to use a Tpiece on the carby feed line and run it to a fuel dot.

Also where did u mount the ignition module?

I have this bird with the DLE 20 also and i m going tu replace a super tigre G90 by dle 20. could you help me ?
1- original holder in white nylon means to narrow , less 5 to 8 mm wide , do you use them or how to replace by greater one . i m afraid because fiwe wall inside is impossible to reach or it must to open the plane noze close canopy ? isn'it ?
2- which propeller i fell thta 15x8 or 3 blade 14x9 or 163x8 woood ?
3- i read with attention your remark about balance and i have to check it after dle20 mount with 2 lipo 2s 1300 nanotech + servo for direction
4- i use retract "perkings" means a little bit not very strong , what s do you think ?

I finally maiden the Super Tucano with a DLE20 rear exhaust (without ordinance for the first flight). I was surprised how easy and slow this plane could fly. Although I used half flaps on landing, I could easily have landed with no flaps based on practice approach runs. Great plane.
