Did you try YT International in the UK? Got my ESM 109 and 190 spinners from them. http://www.ytinternational.co.uk/spinner/spinners.htm

A 180 will spin a 16 x 8 really well....good Rome in mid 9000's for a two blade. Will spin a 16x8x3 at high 8000's or low 9000's

For those who have gone electric, what prop adapter and prop nut did you guys use?

I first tried a great planes adapter (8mm to 9.5mm) with a Dave Brown prop nut adapter tapped to 10-32... However, this turned out to be too long. So, I ordered and received a tru-turn adapter (8mm to 10mm) that was already tapped at the shaft end to 10-32. However, this to was too long as well. But, I was able to cut off about 10mm to get it to be short enough to fit. The problem now is the tapped thread (10-32) has lost most of it's threading (didn't notice it was not tapped all the way to the bottom until after I cut off the excess). DOH! I bought a 10-32 tap to extend the threads but the tap bottoms out only after about 3 mm in (due to the pointy tip of the tap). I feel this is still not enough thread. I'm tempted to grind down the point on the tap which may get me 2mm more...

There's got to be an easier way of doing this. Any suggestions?

TIA

M3

m3express....what motor are you using? Eflite power 90, 110, and 160 include shaft adapters already tapped for a bolt on spinner.

I went the cheap route with a Tacon 110. It comes with a 12mm direct bolt on prop shaft adapter BUT is not tapped.

Funny thing is, I normally use E-Flite Power motors but opted to save a few bucks this time... With the cost of the various tools & adapters (tru-turn adapter alone was $40), I could have just went with the eflite 110 and saved a bunch of time.

Whats the old saying... Penny wise, pound foolish...

I am planning on useing the tacon motors also. I am going to drill and tap them myself for 10-32 bolts.

If I go the cheaper route instead of using an e-flite, I'll get turnigy G160 in place of thr eflite(or whatever size is needed). The G series are basically the exact same, but don't come with tapped adapters. However, the motor shafts are the same diameter as the e-flite motors, so I just buy the appropriate adapter from horizon and use the set screw version out of the package.

Replacement adapters already tapped

They have an easymatch g160 at 245kv(same as the elfite 160 kv) but on backorder.

I just tried to order one of these at my local hobby shop, and he said that the distributer that he gets them from does not have it listed any more.
Anyone heard about these being discontinued ? [:@]

I have a saito 200TI on the way, and realy wanted to install it in this very nice Messerschmitt.

If I manage to get one, what do you think about the electric retracts ?
What other air options are there ?
Does this plane use 90 degree retracts ?

Hi ,Hi bought the 3 generation electric retracts(from Lindiger)..The first time i conect all togehter the control board was burned.after i contact wiht the seller they send me another one new.but the retracts but still not work.thinking it was the electric retracts motors, still did not find the fault.

finally.contact the after-sales and send them all together, retracts and control board.reviewed and returned i to mi. They changed the control board. again wiht no charge.
My conclusion. lthough the retracts itself i aparently strong an well made.the control board is a bigggg.trash[&o]

Still thinking that the electric retracts are the best option for a warbird, you save weight,no air valve, no air leaks,no servo for the air valve,no air tanks, and scale retraction speed!

Large retailers (like Lindinger in Austria) have the plane.

I have Sierra retracts which are made to fit exactly this model, and are scale 80 degrees (a MUST because the retract mounts are so close together!)

I never had any ESM electric retracts, but all my buddies at the field who tried them agree with Kurrikan: AVOID THEM, they will fail sooner or later ...

Thanks for the input guys. I will try find som air retracts if I can get hold of the plane.

Lindinger is not allowed to sell ESM models to the northern countries, as there is a distributer up here with higher prices.
That realy pi$$es me off a bit. Its also that distributer that my local hobby shop tried to order the plane at.

I think ESM have shot them self in the foot using distributer rights for different regions. When the models are substantialy more expensive, poeple just dont buy them.

Sonnich Johannesen,

Though on their site Lindinger states that it will not send (which they are obliged). they simply do when you order and pay the plane. I myself did that with mine. They send it free of transport costs. So I ended up with a much cheaper plane than the Dutch seller, who does charge transport costs.
So, it's worth a try. I certainly would buy with them again.

Succes.

Regards,

Eric Schumacher, Netherlands
