RE: BUD NOSEN 1/4 scale CITABRIA BUILD COMPLETION
thanks twin-flyer, slow and steady works best for me. I try to get a little something done about every day. my holdup right now is waiting for some warmer weather to be able to powdercoat the aluminum landing gear, can't finish sheeting the bottom tillit's installed. got a really nice set of Sullivan S853 aluminum 4 1/2 inch wheels in last week, went with a slightly larger wheel cause our grass strip at the club field is thick and deep....

Ok I have mine finished and have put about six flights on it, I have a question about the flight characteristics about this plane. I built it and balanced it as per plans. Set the control surface throws as per plans. It has hardly any aileron control, I have about 2" of throw and using 133inoz servos on each wing, is this normal ?

Thought I would add this, straight and level flight will be normal loops will climb gradual but drop off sharply under power. In a stall it will drop sharply and take longer to recover. In other word you will have a great flying plane but you are going to have to stay with it all the time. Never a dull moment[:@]

How heavy are you tires, and how large. with this fuse being so tall, the more weight you have below the prop center line the harder it is to roll, Wheel pants and so on
Larry
And another thing ! This plane is lazy and does not like to do things in a hurry

I reduced dehidral and set up aileron differential to almost 1/8 in down and it has a lot better control now. Now it is enjoyable to fly. Thanks.

Hey Guys,
I scratch built my 106 in. Citabria a couple of years ago.
A couple of weeks ago I put my phone/camera IN it!
I just made this video and posted it on you tube. Take a Look!

Nosen Citabria
Hello All
Not sure if this thread is still active. But I just picked up what I believe is a Bud Nosen Citabria, Here are a couple of Pics.
Has a Us 42 Gas motor, 3 piece wing, Center and Wing panels. Also included my other Bud Nosen Plane.

Here comes one of my stupid questions............I'm sure you have your reasons but I am wondering why you didn't paint the cowl at the same time as the wheel covers?
By the way, the plane looks great!!

Sebo,
Painted the wheel pants solid red, cowl is red and white and had not been masked off yet, spraying the cowl today, one thing at a time for me as i don't like to rush anything and focus on 1 item at a time, thats what works for me. I did my own wingtip mods and came out with 110 inch
wingspan, DLE 35cc swinging a Xoar 19/8, prop, Hitec Aurora 9 radio. Doing the maiden flight this weekend if the weather is good.
