3.48m Viperjet XXL
Had a great day today putting the final check flights on my recently finished Viperjet XXL
Very solid, scale flyer. P200SX power, 18MZ, 8911s, Powerbox Cockpit SRS, 2 x R6203RX and Powerbox iGyro (didn't switch it on as it simply didn't need it so will likely take it out )

RE: 3.48m Viperjet XXL
Another 3.48m ViperJet XXL maiden last weekend.
All Futaba guidance, Powerbox SRS, Down and Locked conversion, Hammer 180. AUW about 46 lb (dry except UAT). All pearl paint, pinstriped, and no cockpit yet. Left room for an iGyro but I am not sure its going to need it.
Despite cooler weather, a brief morning rainstorm, and breezy conditions (20 mph) last Sunday, the model flew great, just incredible presence. Flys like a 3.5m Futura. Very axial rolls, no KE coupling that I could tell, and 5% down elevator mix on full flaps. Takes off in what seems like 10 feet. Just loves to fly yet has decent penetration at 2/3 throttle (its no Firebird). Very gentle stall characteristics, no snap whatsoever. Slow and tight loops with full elevator and the nose never lost track or wandered. Its going to be a keeper thats for sure.
I took pictures of the build and if time warrants, Ill go through it in a different thread.
Many thanks to Gotz at Vogelsang, Hammer, Futaba and Greg Poppel with the Columbus Big Bird Club for opening up the field and braving the weather with us last week.
Expect to see this one at many Midwest and Southern USA jet events in the years to come.
Next stop, Virginia Jets...
