UPDATE.........UPDATE.........UPDATE.........UPDAT E
We have a great addition to the 2013 First in Flight Jet Rally excitement. BVM Jets has graciously donated an Electra ARF with striking new red "scheme-8" colors (see below)! This is certainly the "Ferrari" of sport jets! Included is the beautifully painted airframe with all hardware, clear canopy, cockpit deck, and complete assembly instructions. We will be raffling off this fantastic aircraft at the Saturday evening awards banquet. Tickets will only be sold on-site during the event days and you don't have to be present to win.

AWESOME!!!!!!
FIF would like to extend a huge thanks to BVM for their support to this event. I'll certainly be at the ticket table myself trying to win this really cool plane.
Well,,,, Nothing left to do now but start loading up and begin FIF preps. Spent this past week gathering up golf carts, gators, trailers and much more. We start moving everything to Wilson on Monday morning. Cant wait to see some of you guys rolling in Tuesday. We'll have the runway open 0700 Wednesday to officially start FIF 2013.
One important note. As in past events, we will allow maidens at FIF but there will be certain restrictions. ALL maiden flights will need to be conducted prior to pilots meeting (7:00am to 8:00 am)Wednesday through Friday. We will look at allowing Saturday testing depending on early morning activities. As in the past, we want to keep this event as safe as possible. I cant think of a more open and safe place to fly a jet than Wilson, but we must take steps to keep it that way. If anyone knows of any needs to perform a maiden, waiver, or test flight, please let us know in advance so we can schedule it. Like everything else, we want everyone to have a good time at FIF and leave with a smile.
See you all soon

Larry,
I will be coming down on late Thursday evening. I am going to bring my old fathful 1.5 hawk and f-16. I will also have my just finish F-18f that I bought from Sean Mchale who was helping out a friend that he lost to cancer. I have it ready but the weather has prevented me from making the first flight. Maybe I can there.
Looking forward to event.

Folks,
You do not need a turbine to attend this event. I have been every year so far as a spectator and had the time of my life. This is a group of stand up guys totally fun to hang out with. You will be impressed, come on out, have a great time, and make some new friends.

Yes, come on down and see the sites. The facility is the best of the east coast for an event of this size. We got here today at 2pm and the we got our tents setup and went over to the hanger and helped out our buddy Steve Stricker and visited with him and his dad. Looks like a great week long event again this year. George got here just before us and I saw the land yacht pulling in as we left of Don Desandre and his gang. Ron Good and Chuck got here today as well.

Today was the final setup day and everything is all set for flying action to start tomorrow. Plenty of folks were rolling in all afternoon and getting set for an early start tomorrow.
Here's a few pics....

Good and bad day today. Good that we got here early and got in a lot of flights before the late afternoon rain, bad that we lost Bob's new Jetmach 60 on the test flight today. He did everything first class with dual batteries and switches, but we suspect a shorted servo on the nose wheel taking the plane down. Total loss, feel really bad for him and I was the test pilot for it so holding a Tx for 20 seconds knowing a planes going in is not fun. We found a burned pin on the nose wheel channel that we think caused the power failure. Plane went into fail safe, went slightly nose down wings level, it or I shut the motor down before it hit the ground and best was no fire. The guys were great about helping find it as the grass is longer than it looks. They took the two of us out in the gator six wheeler and we found it in a million pieces, motor looks ok except for the mount and front case/ starter. Radio equipment and rcu look trashed but we'll see. Weather was good most of the day. Will take my IPad tomorrow and post pictures tomorrow night from the hotel. Come on down guys the weathers fine!

Hey, I could not believe the great weather we had today. Especially after the scary looking radar traces this morning. Could NOT have been a better day for a jet meet. At least untill 4:00
