Rudder servo in the fin, but the picture on the other site shows some "fish fins" under the main wing??

Give it 5-10 years and we'll have more wing bits, flow straighteners, and end fences on our F3A ships than an F1 car []

It is Oxai,

There is a small access cover where the rudder servo sits, just forward of the stab adjustment screw. The engine must be the new YS 185, and the most important detail not clearly seen in the picture is the ventral T canalizer with anhedral.

He just flew it one day ago, and it's supposed to be very good, but not much details nor comparison to the Axiome+. It has an engine cowling on the bottom, not the ussual belly pan, so wing seems to be a two piece one.

I heard some rumors about a YS 200 also....but I'm not a YS man anymore..the plane is maybe also designed with the higher altitude at the WC in mind ?

Hi,

The big change indeed appears to be the ventral T canalizer with anhedral. The stab does not look like it has any anhedral. The benefit of the "normal" t-can is well understood. But why the ventral t-can? What benefit might it bring? Any ideas?

When the pictures get posted on the Oxai page, it will be obvious it is something completely new.

Let's see what all the "experts" here in RCU will say about what it is about and the "exact" reasons and detailed explanations on the airflow, and what is wrong with it and bla bla bla.......

I love it....A triplane (just a matter of time in my opinion),with anhedral in the bottom wing. Baron Von Richthoffenwould smile!

Concentrating this much wing area on the fuse CL has a bunch of benefits

Anhedral on the bottom wing would produce adverse roll couple; or correct proverse couple the other two wings generate.

A YS200 (32 cc) would be great if true. I don't think the extra weight would be a problem. But I'd love to see a 250 supercharged gas version. Got to be stronger than the OS 40cc 4 stroke....

I'm willing to bet that the ventral T-canalizer makes the entire package very effective. It looks like the area of the two canalizers is equal to the one canalizer of the latest iteration of the Axiome. This airplane looks "right" the last Axiome with the tiny Saphiresqe wing and giant canalizer didn't look good on the ground or in the air. This airplane probably kicks substantial ass.

I'm interested to hear about the new YS as well.

I think he planned this plane specially for South Africa, the upper "T" has more surface, the wings seems to also have more surface. I hope to ask his soon as he kept all this very secret! As you might know, the next Wolrd Championship in south africa will be at 1200 meters, so more surface and a new YS CDI 185 (if I'm not wrong) is a great idea to compensate the loss of traction and support due to altitude.

The flying caracteristics from the first Axiome to the latest version of the + is huge, the first being very difficult to stall as it is too stable but the latest is so easy to stall and enter a spin, I wonder how this new double taper wing behaves.

The Axiome might not be the pretiest plane, but is far better than any monoplane I know, and it took a while to develop the Galactik as it was difficult to design something better than the Axiome+. Only those who have flown the Axiome+ understand what I say I guess.....

Looks quite good from those pics. Are there any more pics out there? Also, anyone have any more info about the YS? A YS 200 has been talked about since 2010 but has yet failed to materialise. Perhaps this is it? If "only" a 185 it would be interesting to know if it has a new crankcase as the liner of the 175 is already pretty thin. Perhaps they have stroked it?

With gasoline engines, you could always put it in an IMAC, throw the pipe and soft iso mount away and put on the chain saw muffler (YUK, did I say THAT?)
