Thanks.
I use to fly a dv8r as well, good flying jet, better with crow. My viper should be here next week. I have a rabbit 100 going in it. I will be using the smoke tanks for main fuel, plus one tank forward.

Greetings, I have asked if anyone could email me a few pictures of how they installed their JL smoke syster, just the install of the hot stick, How far out of the fuse. did you extend the tube before bending it into the blast, any pictures and a short outline would be great...

I just received the system and with all JL stuff you do not get any instructions, any and all help would be great.....all of my other smoke was on gas engines, the one picture I received the pilot was using a short tube just behind the turbine, I have been told not to do this and the system did come with a long hot stick...

Thanks to anyone for your input.

Hey Guys,

of those who are operating the Spark T 12 with the internal valves and ecu. How did you go about installing the fail safe/kill switch for this engine?
It's got me stumped, only a throttle cable to rx and the pump leads to from turbine.

Hi Matt,

I'm setting up a VT80 which is the same setup as you describe. I'm going to use a battle axe kill switch which cuts power to the pump so the fuel feed is stopped. I also saw in the T45 thread that Michael used a servo to shut off the ball valve to the engine which complies with our rules and regs.

I got the switch from jetproductsaustralia ( Phil Celima )

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks Jeremy, I'll look it up.

Really want to avoid the whole servo thing, kinda undoes the whole idea of the ecu/valves ect being in turbine.

Yeah but the kill switch is still a servo channel and you have to cut into the pump wire, I know Intairco have a switch that goes between the battery and the ecu which cuts all power to the turbine but I'm not sure how good that is for the turbine if it has been running.

It's by Dimension Engineering, called a BattleSwitch. Email Phil as I got one off him the other day.

This is Peters switch http://www.intairco.net/products.php...Suit-Xicoy-ECU

One of the guys at my field flew his first on the VT80 and it was fine. The fact it is a light engine helps keep the overall weight down. Top end was not as quick as the P80 setup but it flew great on the VT80

Hi,all
I install a JET LEGEND T12(12Kg) turbine.
I think, the T12 is the best choise when you add smoke system.Because the smoke tanks total 2L
.8Kg-10Kg turbine will be a good choise without somke system.
Look at my latest flight video below.Power by JET LEGEND T12.

NO.2 http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNDEwNzYwNDU2.html

Nice flying, I live in Colorado in the US and fly at 6,000 ft. In watching your video with the T-12 at 26 lb thrust I think it will be great for smoke as well and the density altitude problems here. I just ordered same paint scheme from Mike and Global Jet Club with the T-12. Can't wait to fly this Jet, should be my any day flier.

Further back in the thread someone posted 135 kts with an 80 size turbine. This is about 155 mph. That's about what I would expect a Boomerang jet would get with this power.

Hi,
it messured during my last flight with the Viper
308 km/h, or 166 kts or 191 mph groundspeed by nearly zero wind
with the VT 100.

Sounds like Mikes guess of 220 mph with a T12 @ 26 Lbs could be right if similar altitude. Germany vs Mississippi is hard to say but 191 mph with a 100N on that size plane is just Hauling Ass. I love it.

I want to thank Mike with Global Jet Club, USA... I had asked a few times for help on setting up the JL smoke system, with no help from the build, so I guess no one but me is using the JL smoke system.

I sent a email to Mike Lin and with in a vew hours he sent a reply and then confirmed it to make sure I understood the install.

Thank you Mike, this makes for great customer support.

The Viper was my first JL bird but I will return to Global for my next jet.

Someone mentioned here they had problems with the right main gear always sinking or losing air or being lower than the left. I have the same issue. I put in air and its not keeping it. I'll get it pumped up and start to taxi and then suddenly just drops.

Anyone have a solution or know what the problem is?
