Well I just went to take a look at a used MGT 8.0 that was listed on Kijiji. Sounds like it needs a new transmission and a bolt on the header to get it going properly. He says it will drive for a second but then slip out of gear because there is something funky going on in the tranny (or clutch). Also when I started it, sounded like the header wasnt bolted down properly as it was extremely loud. Also when it was started, the motor revved really really high, like it was lean or something with the throttle stuck on. I went to plug the pipe to shut er down but of course the leak on the header allowed the engine to keep running so he pinched the line to shut it down. Do you think if I buy this thing, theres a good chance the thing will blow up right away? Ive been outta nitro for a while and have forgotten a lot about it. Any advice about your thoughts on this baby is greatly appreciated.

PS He runs 30% fuel.

He has put a little over half a gallon through the engine. 30%

There's nothing wrong with running 30%Nitro in the 8.0
Worst case your gonna need to fix tranny or replace Engine. The engine likely needs retuning.
Remember your buying used, my Xl block had air leaks everywhere, but this is not always the case.
Mind me asking how much?

$350 Canadian plus my subwoofer.

I talked to him about the problem last night and apparently it drives for a few minutes and then it will start slippin or act like its in neutral and sit for a few mintues then go again. Does this mean the clutch shoes are gone?

350 is not bad, what's included with it? I dont know about giving up the sub, what's the make and model?
