Default Warbirds Over Denver

OK guys, time to dust off that winter layer of sawdust and break out those big, beautiful heavy-metal Warbirds! You've got four weeks to get 'em dialed-in and ready for action. Last year we had 80 pilots registered and most brought at least 2 planes. So mark yer calendar and get those registrations mailed in. We're looking forward to great weather and tons of flying for all, June 7,8,9, 2013! As always, we'll be hosting a growing number of Vets brought in from local "Old Soldiers Homes". Thanks Shaz for organizing this opportunity to honor those who served us all! See ya there!!

OK Doogy. I just made my Hotel reservations yesterday. We will have 3 guys coming (Cal had to back out due to a case). Looking forward to seeing you and Lora, Bruno, Clark, and all the Colorado guys/gals. Any veterans that come out will simply be an honor to salute! I shall bring my 165 inch B5N-N2 Kate if that is OK; I mean she is Axis after all. Phil will have his 108 inch Corsair, and I am not sure what Chris is bringing. I may even bring my 110 inch Zero as well....(pssst she will be for sale if the local guy does not buy her). Chattfield or Bust! See you in 4 weeks. Hi Lora!

I'd say that Kate's gonna need some escort or it will be a sitting duck! Our A6M would be proud to serve in that capacity! Banzai!!
Sorry that Cal can't make it. Maybe his case will be continued. We're excited you guys are making the trip! By the way, I still need a canopy for our Meister 109. I'd be happy to purchase that one if you still have it.

HELL YEAH BABY..............THE DUSTIN OFF HAS ALREADY BEGUN. The Pueblo Birds of Prey has the heavy metal in ready status. Let the thunder of Denver begin. Tell Lora......get out the orange fluorescent paint please. Brent's bringing a new giant Fokke Wolf, plus usual array of P-47's.............Duane's bringin a new giant 92 inch Zero..........Sam should be bringing a giant Mochi 202 if he gets it maidened in time. I'll be binging a new giant Corsair to fly with you, a Top Flite Mustang D model to fly with you and Bruno and the usual array of smaller 51' and jugs. We have some new blood that will be coming this year. Should be nine of us and somewhere around 18 to 20 sortie ready Warbirds. Can't wait.

Hey Cap'n! We got yer spot reserved! It sounds like you guys have been busy this winter and will represent Birds of Prey well. The next four weeks won't go by fast enough. Tell the guys I be itchin' to make some NOISE! By the way, let Zach know that Lora's looking forward to flying formation with him again this year. Now, if that ain't a s*#@-eatin' grin, I don't know what is!!

Man, these last few weeks before the event can get hectic...all the event stuff AND tryin' to get a new plane ready in time! Fired up the new Jug's engine for the first time yesterday. Hopefully ready to maiden in two weeks! Thought you'd like to get a peek at the dash plaque art we'll have this year. As usual, our resident maestro is providing us with very collectable stuff. Great job and thanks Ed!

Jeff, you're the man! Can't wait to fly with you guys!

Yessir Cap'n! We got lucky at the auction and found a Yellow AC Jug in pretty decent shape. The Sach's 3.2 fired right up after sitting idle for many years. In fact, it turned a 20x10 8000rpm! Been busy replacing all the guts and refinishing the exterior. I'm working on finishing her as "Lil' Herbie". I met the pilot, Herb Stachler last year in Urbana OH during the Doolittle Reunion. Needless to say, he's quite a guy! Go here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4APmtCwk8c for a short video I put together detailing rides he and his brother took with the CAF one evening. Here's some quick pics I took tonight along with an idea of what the finished product is supposed to look like.

Hey Cap'n,
Ran into a guy at Chatfield who said he was at your field last weekend and saw The Birds of Prey wringing out a bunch of new stuff! He mentioned a Meister Zero. Is that Duane's and is it 92"?

Only 10 days to go...picked up a bunch of goodies from Ken at RC Hobbies for the usual pilot giveaways. Thanks Ken for your support of this event! He's also donated the new TF GS Corsair ARF for our drawing to be held on Sunday. Also, the B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" will be flying out of Centennial all weekend so we should see history overhead as we have before. I was at the field yesterday and saw a couple of 'Stangs escorting an Avenger that flew over headed South. Storage tent sets up Thursday...keeping fingers crossed for nice weather! Don't forget, still only $25 for pilot registration and lunch is on us Saturday and Sunday! Oh by the way...anyone remember the B-25 cowl flaps we gave away as trophy's last year.....?

Thanks Larry. He'll need to keep her at full throttle to keep up with me! But then, I believe he uses an on-off switch for throttle control instead of the stick right??!!

I plan to bring my Comp Arf Spitfire and most likely the F-86, Skymaster in Erik Hartman markings.
Wish I could bring the big 1/3 scale jug as well.

Hey Cal! Thanks for the sentiments. We'll miss you too but perhaps we'll catch up in Owatonna...I'll bring you a shirt!

Looking good Brian, see you there!

Hey Jeff...maybe if you didn't bring such dinky planes! I have been known to accept bribes from time to time.

One week and counting!! Vets coming Friday and Saturday!
