Anyone own a Warhead?
RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
Pressurized the tank and found it was leaking from one of the mounting screw holes.....boo. used some plastic JB Weld and allow that to setup for about 10 minutes and then inserted the screws so it would thread. Allowed it to set additional hour, reinstalled tank and now after 2 tanks of 20% happy to report no leaks.
Guess the trick to these motors is to allow them to age 3+ years and then use it lol

I still enjoy mine, very occasionally, (too busy with the stuff I race) I try and taunt other racers with savages and traxxas's but they just do not show up to race, guess they are scared

ps HPI 4.6 takes very little mods to the engine mount only, runs great

RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
What a surprise to see posts back here. I still have two. One is still nitro but different engine. But my favourite is the one I converted to electric. It is great!!! I made a custom mount for the motor and it flies. Haven't had any time to use any of the 20 or so RCs I have yet this spring. Hopefully I will get to it soon if the wife stops giving me projects.

still using the stock servo's, anyone have good inexpensive recommendations for the steering ? Have a extra futaba s3305 that should work good for the throttle.
Does anyone have experience with this PN# DTXC4564 ? Warhead EVOracing steering set . Curious if it improves the turning radius or not.

Mine is still at home but fully taken apart. Maybe I will put it back together and see if those tiger engines hold a tune after 4 inactive years hahahahaha

the race steering does help a little, you can basically do the mod yourself by cutting the silver arms an going in a hole...did this to my buds..JMO

basically what that does is increase the swing radius, hence steering tighter...i think if u look at an RTX it has the shorter arms...LMK how it works....Mess[:@]

RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
The racing steering set is the servo saver and other post and steering linkage but made of aluminum instead of plastic, I have it in my RT-X27 and like it, does it help????? but the purple color is cool, only real aluminum parts the warhead needed was front bulkheads. Yes Mark I still have mine and a losi ten sct nitro among many others
RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
Thanks.
Ordered the race steering kit and the steel spur gear. Looks like bulkheads will be a issue going forward as the Aluminum and plastic versions are no longer available.
Wished I had used this truck more when new but the engine just left me disgusted
It was $1.30 so could not pass it up lol

RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
and do not forget to pull the screws from the ring gear and red loctite them or replace them, they take such a tiny allen wrench I switched them out for philips
RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
Well after 3 1/2 - 4 years the front tires came unglued. I intially thought something had broke or was binding in the tranny so I was pretty excited to find out it was the tires lol.
What kind of wheel options is there for the Warhead ?

RE: Anyone own a Warhead?
The RT-X27 used 17mm hex and most of the truggy wheels fit right on, the warhead and evo used 14mm hex, I think the traxxas and savage 25 used 14mm hex
