RE: 1/5 Hybrid Hellcat
Copy that Bluehawk....sad but true. No disrespect taken. We almost had it flying last week when we actually had a nice day here in Minny, but could not keep the ZDZ 80 running due to a leaky fuel line in the tank. That's been fixed, but it's been pretty funky weather since. Hopefully next weekend looks good.

Thanks Bluehawk...appreciate the kind words.
Hopefully we can make an honest woman out of her this Sunday.
Now if everybody would just do a "no-rain" dance......[:@]

Hello Jeff,
My name is Michael Radu and I want buy one of you Hellcats. Mr Mohn told me to look into your kits and I like what I see.
What is the time frame for this bird to be delivered? Also how much?
I'm just about finished with my Top Flite Corsair and would love to build and detail your Hellcat.
If you want to check out my build thread of my Corsair and have time, let me know what you think.

Wow, simply outstanding there Michael....I see you suffer from that same disease most scale modelers do
Your Corsair can in no way be thought of as an "ARF"! I picked up one of Earl's tail wheels for my Hellcat, and they are wonderfully scale. I did notice that the foam wheel is too soft for my heavier-than-should-be prototype 'Cat, so your idea of the harder rubber tire is a good one.
Hopefully this Sunday if the weather permits I will get to maiden my proto, and then will feel more secure in allowing the kit out for sale.
I actually have one whole other kit pulled (except for cutting out the plywood parts) that would be ready for sale just as soon as I've proven her airworthiness. For the complete fiberglass kit, which now includes f/g outboard panels as well, (my prototype 'Cat has built-up outboard wing panels) I'm thinking in the $2,000 range. The first "production" kit I have on hand has the motor mount box set up for a Moki 150....which would be a terrific combo for this bird.
I'd love to pull one for you and have you do as fine of a job on its build, as you have on your Corsair build...very well done
Give a big hello to Jeff M for me...his was the first of my Jugs to fly with electric power!

RE: 1/5 Hybrid Hellcat
Well, my luck is still running...another trip to Owatonna and no maiden.[:@] Just could not get the ZDZ 80 to run right, and also noticed a crack in the engine's back plate that will have to be fixed. Jeff Q was gracious enough to offer up yet another of his motors, this time a Quadra 100 THAT should really pull the blue beast. It's heavier than the ZDZ, and I sure wouldn't mind removing a chunk of that ingot of lead I have for balance!
Wish I could report a successful first flight...but I guess it will have to wait a bit more.[]

It has to be so very disappointing and I sincerely feel for you. Want me to come out there and give you a hand? I'm a licensed aircraft mechanic...retired from a major airline. I bet between us we will get that blue beast of a war machine in the air!!!!!!

Hey, thanks a bunch you guys...it's amazing how patient some folks can be! I sure appreciate all the kind words of support. I know
we're getting closer to that first flight.....and, more to the point, that all-important video to upload to boot! There are so many great people in this "hobby" and I am always heartened to see just how much everyone wants to lend a hand!
I think I will take Jeffrey up on his offer to use his Quadra 100...what a guy
Thanks again, Geoffrey....youdaman!
