AD eScorpion Mk2 has arrived.
Hello everyone.
We have the Swiss scheme in stock and it can be seen in Houston.
http://www.ultimate-jets.net/collect.../escorpion-mk2
It is a lovely little airplane. Very cute and flies very nicely on a P-60 or a good 90 mm to 100 mm EDF...
Note that the basic version ( for EDF ) does not have rudder. These can be ordered as an option and are required for the turbine version as per AMA regulations if I am not mistaken.

RE: AD eScorpion Mk2 has arrived.
Here are some pictures of the eScorpion. I am really impressed with the quality of the layup and build on it. The airframe is incredibly light, yet rigid. All of the formers have continuous glue lines all of the way around the bulkheads where they make contact with the skin and a nice fillet on both sides. The quality of the wood is excellent. The Swiss scheme really fits this airframe well just as it does on the bigger turbine Scorpion and Super Scorpion. I will weigh the components later and post the results on this thread. I do have this one in my shop in Houston, so come by and check it out if you are local. I guarantee that you will be impressed.

You didn't mention servo's , so I guess those will come later. I do want to ask which/what retracts, struts and wheels (and size)
you used.
And thanks for the weights.

RE: AD eScorpion Mk2 has arrived.
Thanks. I ask because I'm scratch building one, just a little larger. WS=52"-Length 61.5" I have the Spring air 102HD's. A little bigger wheels for grass, 2 1/4" nose, 2 1/2" mains. It's kind of a cross between the E model and the turbine version, only working off a drawing. It's not exact, but you know it's a Scorpion!! The weights were also appreciated.

I have just updated the web site with all the eScorpion details and accessories:
http://www.ultimate-jets.net/collect...on-accessories
We have 1 Swiss scheme left in stock and then the next batch is due to arrive in 1 week from now ( could be slightly delayed due to the floodings ).

Product page updated.
I included the specs and a download tab with the same simulation/ white paper as the bigger scorpion ( the stab is the same scaled down ).
The builder's manual is also available from this tab.

RE: AD eScorpion Mk2 has arrived.
Nice plane, is that the biggest tank that will fit? (37 fl ounces?)
Is this enough fuel for enough for a P-60.......unless I am missing something (like there are 2 of these tanks, etc).
I am in the market for a small EDF/Turbine set up and this one looks nice. Always like the lookand flying performance of the scorpion, they just needed a lighter more up to date construction, looks like this has it.

How would a Wren 44 go at 45n thrust?

So it should be OK for takeoff. Since this plane has glass fiber inlets all the way to the EDF, it should fly fast enough with these set as a bypass on a smaller turbine.
Bare in mind that you would probably need saddle tanks in that case.
