Default Optotronix Aurora LCU

Well been trying to get this lighting system programed, but I am missing something somewhere.
I have read and reread the instructions multiple times. So much that I have a headache.
I figured out how to program battery type, and flash sequences, but what I am having trouble with is how to set up the activations to a switch so that I an turn the landing lights on/off.
Also, If I am understanding the flashing LED confirmations, I am in the "Stand Alone" mode and cannot for the life of me figure out how to do a total reset to factory settings so I can start over.

Someone Please help. There are on so many asprins in the house. LOL.

Thanks

I have done that numerous times. I don't see a reset happening.

OK, something very odd then as I have never had any issues doing the reset - I can only suggest you contact Stefan at Emcotec as they may be faulty then ?

He can be emailed at.....
[email protected]

I know from when I have programmed these for others, they can be a pain and sometimes need to be done a few times to get what you want.
The translation of the manual from German to English can be confusing at times !

The only other thing I can think of is that I don't use the "Stand alone" mode for programming - I always have it hooked up to the radio and connected to the switched channel I want to use to start with - maybe that the difference ?

I use mine with Futaba gear, select any the channel I want to use and allocate to my required switch - all of my end point or travel values are 100/100.

I have it set t a 3 position switch.
I have outputs 1 & 2 set as different flash types and output 3-6 set as always on.
When I set the required output channel (1-6) I put my 3 position switch into the require ON position for that light.
Then after finishing and storing, the lights are off when i have my switch in my off position, only lights 1&2 come on in my middle positions and then all are on in my 3rd position.

I also use Futaba gear but also using the new PowerBox Royal SRS. I will have to check my settings and may try to by pass the PB.

I use the same system on my MB339, I is importent that you use a chanel that goes from -100% til 100%, you can't use the DG1 og DG2.., I have allso use a 3-point switch, off (-100%), On (0%), on (100%), I turn all my lights on at 0%, except the landing light that only comes on at 100% (position 3), in the same way I can control that the landinglight turns off, when I retract the gear, and the other lights is still on..

maybe you could use the answer I got from Thomas..I worked for me.

Hope it helps.

Yes, that is the way I am trying to set it up but the unit cannot be switched to the regular operation mode.
I sent an email to Optotronix but I have not heard anything back. It has to be a bad module.

Joe

I'd be very surprised if you get an answer within reasonable time from Optotronix (Dennis Berger)...

EMCOTEC took over sales etc. more than a year ago, Optotronix only makes the product development. I think that's good from a customers point of view.

I've PM'd you an email you could use.

Regards Thomas

That's why I previously said to email Stefan at Emcotec.

Joe,
did you get it working?
It took me a full day to figure mine out. I printed English instructions and reread a thousand times but finally got it to work.

Never got first one to work. After trying so much with the first one, I got the second one working in 1 minute. This one works perfectly.

Is there anyone in the states that carry these Optotronix Aurora LCU lighting systems, or where is the best source if having to order ?

Thanks.
