Sorry but I take a issue with this statement, If you built a plane and had someone else do the maiden flight for you wouldn't you be sure that the plane was completely airworthy before handing the Tx over? I know I would never dream of asking someone to maiden one of my models with out checking the c of g personaly first, You can't really put the blame on your friend for not balancing the model per the plans when it's your plane and your plans can you?
Not trying to be rude but it just doesn't seem right for you to push the blame on the your friend, it is your model afterall.

Andrew.

ORIGINAL: fokke

his fault, checked the CG but is not made ā€‹ā€‹by my plans ......... nothing to fear but this will be a lesson for hem The CG must be like in my plans or 25% or 12 sm from the front angle , but can be and 23% . Between 23-25%
Yes the model had fly , but to short cose the control was hard owing to bad CG
The nex time will be better I think

Try again...

He designed the kit.
Someone bought the kit from him.
Someone built it
Someone didn't follow the instructions
Someone tried to fly it
It didn't work out real well

Not his fault

Now you have no need to take issue with the statement

I do not judge my friend but the CG of his model was more than what I calculated according to the profile of the wing that I use. So in my drawings the CG is 23-25% of the leading edge, and my friend's 30%.
Separately in weight that was put in a 40 cube motor was already weak for that plane model. For the second fly he change the engine with 55 cc , the weight is one kilogram less before was 10 kg , now is 8,850 kg. !

So, we are both working in a team. I believe in his pilot abilities as he is a better pilot than I am. When he makes a mistake I am not the one to judge him. ........ combination of factors !

Very soon we will have the second fly and I believe that will be a good

Casey , thanks buddy !

I apologize for that Fokke I did not realize this was not your personal model but that of your friend.  I thought that he was simply doing the maiden for you; I should have read more carefully.

Live from the International Space Station !

Live video from the International Space Station includes internal views when the crew is on-duty and Earth views at other times. The video is accompanied by audio of conversations between the crew and Mission Control. This video is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground. During "loss of signal" periods, viewers may see a test pattern or a graphical world map that depicts the stationā€™s location in orbit above the Earth. Since the station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, it experiences a sunrise or a sunset about every 45 minutes. When the station is in darkness, external camera video may appear black, but can sometimes provide spectacular views of lightning or city lights below.

Hi guys
After settings and several adjustments of the engine and electronic we tryed how the model react on the airstrip, the result is two broken props the reason is landing gear. is my fault, the small distance between wheels [>:] stupid mistake , the first think who I will make in my home will be landinggear and again ot the airstrip

Fokke it is looking so good mate and almost ready to fly.
Couple of things, Make sure you hold full up elevator for taxiing, even if you dial in extra on high rates. This will keep the tails on the ground and keep it slow.
Also remember these early aircraft operated off grass strips so they were not so 'grippy' on the hard surfaces and tracked a lot better for take off. It might be an idea to find a nice low cut grass surface to fly off for the first few flights. I find with my ESM 109 on take off I have full up elevator for the initial roll then slowly centralise it and then leave it alone and concentrate on rudder to keep it dead straight, throttling up slowly so the tail lifts and then it is running on it's mains. It will start flying soon after that.

Well done any way mate. I will have some questions for you very soon as I look at putting my machine together.

Cheers,

Brad (still a very proud '109' owner)

Brad, you're absolutely right about everything you said! Should I rebuild the tail wheel to turn at least rudder, It is very important also

Thanks for yŠ¾ur comment and advice Brad !!!

N o t quite sure what you are saying Fokke about the tail wheel but if you are talking about how much it turns then I make mine turn a bit more than the rudder but I also use duel rates on my radio for take off so I do not have all the available throw. I set it so I can still turn against the torque of the prop but not full deflection if you know what I mean. The take off surface will have a lot to do with how the model behaves during roll up and roll out and of course how you set up your wheels and undercarriage. Remember, these little fighters lost more to take off and landing incidents that actual combat so they are a lot of work to get going and stop.
Remember also you are testing an unproven model (lucky you) so there may be many mishaps and the odd frustration.
I'm sure you will work through it mate. I wish I was at the stage of testing with you but this will be later.

Good luck.

Brad

Fokke
Thank you very much for your reply I am kind of surprised that the price is so reasonable. This makes it a lot more affordable for us guys over here because I'm sure shipping to America will cost a pretty penny. Again thank you for your reply and when the time is right I will be getting one of these.
Yes 77chickenhawk, the price 580$ fŠ¾r all kit is good, but I thik that the price of shiping is not to much , the shiping to USA is around 95 $. I think that for that big package 135sm x40sm x 30sm is a good price to

By the way sent seven 7 KITs in USA, Australia, Rusia, France Sweden and 2 kits here in BG , so the price to USA and Australia is almost the same

Rumen that is so awesome mate!!!
I will have to call your test pilot 'Full throttle man'

It sounded windy, I hate the way you pilot 'burps' the throttle while taxiing, it behaved very well on take off, it flew well (and fast) it looked well balanced and it landed and stayed straight.

What a great test flight.

That's it I am dusting off the building board and doing my wings!

Congratulations Mr Fokke. (and Mrs Fokke)

Congrats Rumen!

Brad,

I have your wheels still, I've been so caught up in my move, I have not done anything with them yet. I'll have everything sorted shortly as the move is winding down.

WOWOWO! Thanks guys, I am a very very happy man!

The model first flight passed normally and the landing was without any flaps! A throttle was caused due to a software problem with the mixer of ailerons, several seconds after the model took off... One of the ailerons moved only from the midle to down!!! My friend (the test pilot) was in very a good condition to handle with the first model testing without any major issues.

The model must be regulated litlle bit more, some changes in the radio and this is it after second and rhird fly averything will be perfect and we will be able to make TonŠ¾ (snap-roll) reversman loop and all other figures

Cheers

I agree...it absolutely kills any illusion of being a "real" plane.
