Guess everybody figured I gave up on getting the motors and shafts installed. Well kokaneezer suggested I take break and ease up a little and enjoy the build. Good advise going at a much slower pace now and enjoying it more.Have posted a few pictures of my progress.

For the superstructure outer trim i did not use 1/8" except for the aft cockpit area. I used a smaller size for the outer trim because Ididn't want it to stick out so much. I think I used 3/16" haIf round trim. believe I posted the size and the source deep in the forum. Go back to where I started installing the trim and go from there..

Well, I got tired of fussing with the stock windshield. Didn't fit right, didn't look right. So I made a nice stained dash curved it to match custom curved roof and put a nice radius on the corners on the windshield. It was a piece of cake to glue as it had an upper and lower ledge to fasten to. When I cut the windows out we will see a nice stained dash in there. The radiused corners will match the bridge radius and tie it all together. I did join the two parts of superstructure together and now it is time to fiberglass the whole shebang. This whole build is taking on a life of its own and some more changes are coming. Maybe I should name her Dentless, built by Laurances' awkward hidden brother Lester.
As the build progresses, I am less intimidated and it is due to the info and guidance provided by you all. I am actually looking forward to the fiberglassing !

Looking great Steve! I never could get the stock one to fit either. I remember a few frustrating late nights trying to figure it out. Eventually just made my own window frames (twice) on mine. Rich walked me through designing the version mine has currently which included rounding off at the roofline to make my boat more true to Big D. Keep the progress pics coming!!!

Bill,

Now, which boat were you on? The "Luv" boat or the 'touring' boat? You did say it was a "lil" boat.

Thanks DF- Do you have a date on that roof mod and your bridge rebuild? Lots of pages to sift through here.

Bill,

What a bridge!  All computerized.  One thing missing, unless it just wasn't in the picture, was a 'wheel' not even a joy stick to steer her with?  I guess they just enter a heading and off she goes or maybe hold the arrow key for port, starboard, forward or aft?

Bill,

Holy cow!!  Talk about steering system redundancy! Man oh man!  Except for the nkowledge that you're guiding a multimillion (billion?) dollar ship, and lives depended on you, you could almost think you were playing a computer game.  Those bridge controls are amazing!  Thanks for sharing the pictures; a far cry from the bridge of the USS
Putnam DD757.

Until I read Rich's post I didn't know so
Happy Birthday too.

Thanks for the Bday wishes guys. Celebrated on board ship. Bob there are 4 main stations anyone of which can take control and then there are one of these each side on the wings for docking. She is 1068 feet with 130' beam and with azipods and thrusters they dock her with no tugs slicker than we could a 20 footer.

Man, what a ship!  It looks like science fiction  (20 year old) come to life.  I'm thinking of Star Trec Enterprise coming into Space Dock or the docking of the saucer section with the main section of the ship.  The show makes it look sooo "easy".

Now comes real life and a HUGE ship which used to 'always' be docked using Tugs can now do the job not only without Tug assistance but so easily it's as if they were parking a car!  Amazing!

Was there at least a 'small' bump?

Bob
