Default carburetors for a Home Light 25cc

looking for a carburetor for a Home Light 25cc conversion. Would a WT 338 off of a g38 work? If not, what would make a good combination for the Home Light?

I used a WA-148

The ideal carbs for the Homelite in a airplane has always been one with a 17/16" venturi.

The Walbro versions will have a number 28 cast in the venturi entrance.

Also known as an 11mm venturi carb. You can go to the "Parts and Service" section, then "Walbro parts lookup" section of the Walbro site; www.walbro.com, and check carb numbers you are considering there. It will tell you what size venturi they are if you have the carb number. E-bay can be a good source of carbs, or sometimes you can find a used one at your local small engine repair shop, and then buy a repair kit and rebuild it. They are prohibitively expensive to buy new; anywhere from $45.00 to almost a hundred bucks.

But remember, it MUST be a twin needle carb; that is a carb with two adjustment needles for the mixture. Many later model carbs have only one and are not suitable for use on airplanes.

I have a 167 carb that will wake up the homelite. I also have a nice stihl engine for sale that aviator did for me. It's a turn key engine, all is needed is a prop. I will make you a sweet deal on it.
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary
with the current economic situation I an in I'm not aloud to buy airplanes, motors, radios, or servos. I am only allowed to buy small parts under $20.00 witch comes out of my $20.00 soda and snack allowances. Being broke sucks. I haven't had a soda in over a month.

Some of the Walbro 20's are easy to drill out to 28. I have two that I did that work fine. You may need to increase the height of the metering arm slightly to get more fuel out and retune as normal. Cheap, easy and effective.
