Default JR XF622 not transmitting, what's wrong?

I just acquired an XF622 in amazingly new condition, but does not transmit The LCD shows good voltage and all programming can be done, no prob........but the RX (Hitec Electron6 pos. shift) and servos do not respond AND my Hobbico frequency checker shows it not putting out.
What could be wrong??

Thanks,
Ray Kelley, Chino, CA.

Transmit crystal MUST be a JR one. That is one option.

Check DC Power to RF Board, does the 622 have a DSC jack at the back ? If so then the main power switch is a split affair. Half of the switch will power up the elctronics and the other half powers up the RF board.

I'm not savvy in where to check for proper voltage.......where on the RF board would I begin? The RF board is the one with the antenna bolted to it, correct??
Yes, it does have that DSC jack.......so if something is not right at that jack then I would check there as well? Where exactly??

Thanks!
Ray

I am fairly RF savey and I still send mine in to HH for repairs. Chances are you will do more damage than good. Been there. Done that. Besides, when they fix one they go totally through it and do any pending modsand upgrades. Heck you are even in the lower 48. What are you even froggin' around with it for? I sent one in on Friday and it was back in my hands the next Friday.

Thanks Len, I see what you're saying........but I am hard headed enough and curious enough to wonder if I could be missing something? This radio doesn't really warrant spending much of anything on it so sending it in
is really not an answer for me.
I may just end up giving it away as a parts radio or somethin'.

Well.....any other thoughts? I did look at the DSC jack and there is power there.
