RE: JAS-39 Gripen Owners/Build Thread
Hiall
Jim Thats realy god that you got the pics on a 39C you wanted.
About the splinter.....
I have learned today that it is not the planes that is the problem when I want to take photos. It is the area at the base were they keep them.
So when I will go there for the splintersome one at the base will take the photos I recuest and thensend them to me.
We are now waiting for their internal photo recuest....so there will be more waiting.
RBS15 pics is on its way!! But still no drawings.
I had a meting at work with Saab people today and they gave me a new contact about the robot.
regards

RE: JAS-39 Gripen Owners/Build Thread
The disk containing the photos taken at Caslav by the professional photographer arrived today so I've got another 200+ photos of Gripen details. Both Craig and Radek did a great job between them so I've got almost everything covered. I say almost because the pylon below the right inlet wasn't installed on either plane on static display. Oh well, I'll figure something out.
In the mean time, here are some of the photos I received today. All of these photos show details that are not typically found in walkaround photos on the internet (thus hiring the photographer) so I'm sharing them in case anybody is "pimping out" their Gripen.
1) The pitch control setting table on the left side of the inboard underwing pylon
2) The Trap Risk marking on the aft end of the air-to-air refueling probe cover
3) The No Step marking on the inboard face of the vortex fences aft and above the canards
4) The nose wheel rim (with tape measure) for machining custom rims
5) The aft facing scoop and small lug inboard of the right inlet pylon (the pylon was removed but you can see it's outline in the weathering)
6) The pitch control setting table of the left side of the centerline pylon. A photo of these markings is im-freaking-possible to find!!!!!!
7) The small window below the engine shut down marking on the top side of the right wing root
8) The inlet and stub vent on the bottom aft fuselage centerline
9) The hinge fairings on the top side of the aileron (people only shoot photos of the bottom side - what's up with that?)
10) The panel and white strip between the nose cone and the front of the windscreen
11) The sensors on the bottom of the nose forward of the nose gear door
Regards,
Jim

RE: JAS-39 Gripen Owners/Build Thread
Hi Roy.The Libertau is not mine. It belongs to a Danisch builder and my son has done the seat and instsumentpanel. Our Draken would be in 1/6 scale and it will take maybe two years before it flys.We also build a J37 Viggen i 1/6 scale and status is almost the same as the Draken.there will be a buildtread on www.jetsweden.se as soon as i get it to my workshop and Jonas will have the Draken back to his.In other Words Jonas will finish the Draken and I the Viggen. We have no pics to share on Viggen yet but her is one on the Draken.Regards Niclas R

RE: JAS-39 Gripen Owners/Build Thread
Thanks Ron.An autoclave is realy nice to have, but there is a new world of "problems"to handle if you get one.For our jet Projects we only use it for beams, fueltanks, landinggears, wingtubes etc.Thin glaslaminates with lowdensity cores together with heat and pressure is dificult to handle. It also inportant that the moulds are designed for heat and presure.Ours are,but we will only cure up to 40 degrees C in a owen.In the future we will try with lowtemp prepgeg but i don`t like them.Pic is on wing innerstruture and the parts will be milled.regardsNiclas Idon`know wy my text is in one long line because it is not like that when i write.
