Default OS FS-20

What do you guys think of this little engine? I have been considering using the one I have but have been reluctant thus far as it is new in the box and could be considered collectable.

A new FS20 is very collectable. Personally I would sell it and get the much more powerful and less pricey OS .26 or even a Saito .40.

Any idea of what a NIB FS20 would go for?

I did a search of the other internet rc site and there were two FS-20s for sale within the past six months. One was NIB, never run asked $140.00 and was sold, but final price not disclosed. The second one was used and the price currently listed is $120.00.

That is my experience with them, they command a premium.

Very sweet little engine but very much on the low end of the power scale.

The little 4 stroke engines tend to be jewels. They run pretty good and are amazingly quiet too. The little FS-20 is equivalent to a .15 two stroke sport glow engine. They look and run well in .15 size planes that have that early 1900's style and look to them. But it is a tough call on whether to run and use the engine or sell it and get something else though. I would likely want to use it. I am presently using a couple of OS FS-26 four stroke engines in a twin engine plane and they sound and run great too. But those FS-26 engines have been discontinued too.

I bet you could trade it for a Saito 30.

Well, I think I've decided to make it a shelf queen for now. I still have the original box, tools, stickers, etc. I'm a self proclamed horder. I will set it up next to my Cox .010 (red/gold) in it's original jewel case that has never had the twist tie un-done on it.

This engine is junk. Send it to me and I'll deal with it.
