23 three flights now as of today. The Corsair is a real stable platform and a great aerobatic Warbird. I think I have the landings figured out. Aprox 1/2 throttle on final, 1/4 throttle on short final and then 1/8 throttle just above the numbers and all the way to touch down which is not a wheel landing but not quite a 3 point either. When she is down you can pull all the power off. I have used this technique the last several landings with little to no bounce at all. The only frustrating thing has been that damn dummy radial. It is made of paper thin plastic and has required me to pull the cowl off after every flying session to repair it. I have used some glass cloth were applicable and now have the entire inside coated with a thin layer of goop which should hold everything together while providing some dampening to the vibration. I also swapped out the tail wheel with a 2'' Dubro solid rubber aluminum hub tail wheel. I drilled holes around the hub ti lighten it up but mostly to improve it's appearance. It is painted white and looks much better and does not go flat like the stock one.

RE: Maj. Woody's Top Flight Giant Corsair ARF
Dom/Major Woody;
Nice Corsair, I have a TF Giant P-40 Running a DLE55 and a JTEC P-40 Wrap Around Pitts Muffler which looks very similar to the one on your Corsair; a few P-40 people have had their JTEC P-40 Wrap Around Mufflers Crack and fall apart, I'm not saying this might happen to yours and I didn't want mine to meet a similar fate, so I made some Modifications to my Muffler to prevent any problems, may not have been needed, but better safe than sorry; I posted this for your consideration in case you have any problems with your Muffler or hear about others having similar problems.
The way I see it, when these engines run they naturally and normally vibrate and shake like crazy, and the one end of the Muffler needs to be supported, and the weld between the rectangular manifold and cylindrical Muffler should be braced for extra strength; if not, the vibration will be excessive on the unsupported end of the Muffler, and will cause the bolts to come loose and/or cause the welds to fail.

I just made a remarkable discovery. My Corsair fits into the back of my wife's Pontiac Vibe! It was like it was made for it. Rear seats folded down, nose first, gear down. The cowl slides between the front seats and the main wheels pass past the rear seat backs on down onto the rear head rests. The wheels are locked in place so the Big Bird cant roll around. Plenty of clearance at the rear for the tail. Lots of room on the sides for my support gear. I may just need to keep this magnificent bird for when the R/C Flying bug strikes! I was planning to bring it to the RCCR fun fly today, but it is raining cats and dogs outside. I will try to snap a picture of the fit when the rain stops.

I brought the Corsair to the RCCR Fun Fly Today. 7 Perfect flights! This baby really rips. The guys were urging me all day long to reconsider selling it. They even threatened to post fictitious comments about how bad it flys. LOL. Gotta love them for wanting me to stay in the group. Truthfully, they were all very impressed with the flight qualities and reliability. I still have her in the classifieds, but really am reconsidering selling now that I know I have a way to transport the model. It would be hard to replace such a fine model.

Well I have decided to keep my Corsair
As soon as the RCU Classifieds starts working, I will remove the ad.
It is just too nice of a model to let go. I may be headed to Olean in a couple of weeks with it. That is always a good show.

Thank you for this thread. I am getting ready to place an order for this airplane/engine combo. I got excited when I came to the part of you selling it and was ready to drive to pick it up regardless of distance, if you ever change your mind I'll pay your asking price and drive the 16 hours to pick it up. Unless of course I've already ordered mine.
I did notice the Hangar 9 model is coming soon and it has some extras but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $250. Although the bomb/tank drop would be really neat to add to either model.
