Hi all

Back a few post I was looking for info on a firewall for a 1/4 size to convert BUSA J-3 kit to a super cub, and after abit of digging I finaly got what will work, may not be exactly scale but it work's for me, So I now have all of the bits and pieces for a winter build.

I am planning on a thread with just the modes, and the little extra thing I allways seem to do to a kit.

I am about to start a Goldberg cub.  Planning on adding wing extensions to 80"  like posted with one a while back in the Navy colors.   Finish will be with a super cub cowl and adding flaps with floatation tires like the Alaska modified cubs.

Gee, I can't believe I forgot to share with the Brotherhood! I maidened my Cub a week ago Saturday. The DLE-20 had more than enough power for it! That thing is a real floater I found out on the dead stick landing, I thought it wasn't going to come down! Anyway, here's the video. Enjoy!

GREAT ViD CFF

I am also using a Saito 65. I will be a slow build as I tend to be ADD (Attention to Details and more Details) when I build even though no one will ever see whats under the covering...

It's Koverite with Stix-It as the adhesive. Also, using Gary Sibert's tapes found at 'Pink-It.net'. Thanks for the compliment!
Here are the window molds. Will pull vacuum on windows this weekend. The 'D' shaped ones are for my PA-12 Super Cruiser bashed from a SIG 1/6 Cub kit.

Hey ARUP,
Got a couple of questions. Is coverite still available and where?
Can you compare with solartex?
In your pic, is that an access hole below the windows? Is this a mod or part of the plans?
Thanks for your time.

Malitape- I used Koverall, not 'Koverite' (Coverite), as my post states. My apologies to everyone for the misinfo! Sheesh, I'm getting 'tetched in the haid'! I have never used Solartex, except in the form of finishing tapes as supplied by Pink-It.net, but understand it's a great product. I like how the tapes 'work' so if this is any indication I would probably love Solartex. I have a huge amount of Koverall that needs to get used up so until then I can't justify buying Solartex. I don't know if Coverite fabric is still available but I liked it whenever I used it in the past. It goes around curves very well and the colors are not affected by the ironing process too much. I didn't like the limited colors and the spray paints that go with it so that is why I went to Koverall and good ol' dope! Koverall is so easy to apply and tough! Also, I love spraying dope. I love the way it smells and I love the way it buffs to a nice shine and how easy clean up is.

This Taylor J-2 is being built from a Goldberg Piper J-3 kit. The opening under the windows is actually how the Goldberg kit supplies the fuselage parts and is a lightening hole I suppose. I fabricated a new upper section from lite ply to make the windows.

Koverall fabric and Stix-It adhesive are available thru SIG or finer hobby stores. Nelson's fabric, Polyfiber, Ceconite and the Stits Process are similar. Some folks even use polyester dress lining material.

Lo and behold, found Coverite 21st Century Fabric @ tower hobbies. Don't know if this is the same material you guys used in the past.

I just recently used the 21st century fabric and thought it went on really easily and the finish looked great. The only downfall is that I can't find 21st century paint to match it. I will have to go with auto paint and spray gun and spray the cowl and pants . Probably better off anyway.
