Hey Darren, yes, glass would work better, be easier to work with (stiffer).
Todd, for sure the Ki will be at Owatonna unless taken out by the RC Gods prior.
Tonight I got the cockpit and rear gunner interior painted. This was painted with a mixed paint of 90% Japanese khaki and 10% red brown.

Working on the interior. Here is the rear gunner bay, which I will not install the gunner ring and gunner; this was removed on some flights to load up on weaponry), the cockpit and the top turtle deck installed. The 2 slots you see on the top of the deck sheeting is where the two 20mm cannons will protrude. Imagie the noise the pilot heard when 2 of these were fired off. The pilot is from GI Joe box.

OK, I owe some updates. I spent THE ENTIRE WEEKEND finishing this plane up for paint. In addition to mounting the retracts, doors, UP-3 valve, and getting them all to work in harmony...although I have to admit, the UP-3 valve was timed flawlessly right out of the package, I mounted the engines, fuel tank and cowls. I have some cosmetic things to do to the cowl and then add framing on the canopies. Afer that, she will be ready for paint. I should be painting it in the next couple of weeks. I'll get some pictures of it when I get home. If it ever stops raining here, I want to put it all together and get a shot of it sitting on gear for the first time.

Long overdue on an update:
The fuse is all painted with the painted graphics and Pro-Mark stencils on. The wing is in primer and panel lines, awaiting arrival of my paint to shoot the gray/green.
Everything is installed in the plane. As soon as I get the wing painted and the last 2 parts for my spinner set-up from Tru-Turn, i can put it together and balance it.
First day out will be just running and tuning engines, but it will fly, finally, this July sometime.
Will post pics as soon as I locate my camera.....[&:]
