I visited with Pe for over 20 years about engines - way back to the old Supertigres on ignitions days. When we BOTH were trying to figure out how to make those freakin' carbs work....he was very knowledgeable on so many aspects of our hobby. He was one of those individuals who told it like it was - and never worried about the audience - facts were facts, and he helped countless thousands through his efforts. It would be an incredible honor to this man devoted to engines if RCU could grab all his posts and make it a sticky. In my opinion, his knowledge is worth capturing for those who will be here and not able to visit with him as so many of us have done. RCU - is there any possible way to do this as an honor to him?I am missing him already...

I was informed in another forum by a fellow club member of his that Pe Reviers passed away suddenly.
As he's in the Netherlands I have no way to confirm this as of yet, but if its true its a great loss and I always enjoyed our discussions.
Rest in peace my friend.

I was very sad to read the news just now of his passing. He helped me a number of times with some issues I had with a MVVS engine. I always read his posts as there was always some bit of knowledge there. Condolences to his family and friends. The good ones just seem to leave us all to soon.

Hi bob on a brighter note i don't know if you read it but pe was getting hammered in an abusive way by some guy who was disagreeing about an opinion pe had offered about his engine problem..needless to say the practical humouress side of him wrote this "you don't need to read the crap we write"

Like referring to C-1022 without posting a link or using quotes?
I know it's the Walbro service manual, but who else does as well? Come on, be fair!
Even then, The service manual does not provide a solution for the WB carbs going richer with the regulator on top (carb in downdraught position). Their carbs are not meant to fly and experience 20+ G-forces while doing so, but are built for hand-held appliances. We find out they are not perfect, so we are searching for solutions to the problems.
If that is like wasting your time, like I said, nobody forces you to read on.

Truly sad, condolences to his family.
Pe Rievers was one of the reasons I loved to hang out in the engine forum. He was such a wealth of technical information. I wish I had the opportunity to have met him in person.
This is a tremendous loss for the R/C community and that is an understatement.

PE was one of the Gurus who really made this forum a great source of information. This spring when I had some issues with a tried and true DLE 30, he made two suggestions both of which were spot on and corrected the problem. Thank you for taking the time to help those of us who sought it, and for being so generous with your expertise. God bless you and keep watch over your loved ones.

Being relatively new to gas, there was a great deal of info he gave me. I always watched his posts as they were always very informative.
An example: He made me aware that I needed to use a higher pitch prop on my gas engine because it ran at a lower RPM than I was used to with my glow engines. So simple, but something I had completely overlooked.
I will miss his informative posts. I feel sad I was never able to meet him in person. Thankfully because of these forums, he was at least able to touch me in some way.
My condolences to his family.

Having been away from RCU for some time, I was shocked when I visited the forums and read about Pe Rievers passing. Though I never met him in person, I really valued his opinions and advices. It was many years ago, when I was struggling with a Supertigre 2300 that I searched the internet and found some of Mr. Rievers' posts regarding various carb mods he had been experimenting with. After that, I found all his posts were must read material. The man was one of a kind. Funny I'm not even sure how his name was pronounced (was it pea rivers?) but these forums will never be the same without him. May he rest in peace.
