1/4 scale piper cub j-3 -attaching wings?
I'll start by saying I did not build it was given to me on my lucky day lol.
It takes me like 1/2 hr. to put the wings on in and is a royal pain to access the bolts through the cabin,
Each wing panel has two line up dowels with two allen headed bolts that bolt through from the inside of cabin.
With a long allen driver I can easily get the first wing on by sticking the allen driver through access holes on opposite side, but attching the second wing that option goes away because the first wing is covering the access, so the only alternative is reach up inside and with a plain allen wrench and turn the screws 1/8 turn at a time till they are tight, it takes me 1/2 hr, the struts are simple.
Anyone know what i'm going through, sorry I'm a newb.

I feel your pain. If you can't lay your hands on an electricians allen wrench set (with handle) you might consider making up just one by epoxying the long shank of the allen wrench in a 1/2" dowel after cutting off the short L bend of the allen wrench.

Just use a small ratchet handle with an Allen bit and ratchet away. Or, a small flex shafted handle and an Allen bit.

An alternative would be to get some all-thread, cut off a piece the length of the allen bolt, thread it into the wing using some locktite and then simply use a nut and washer to attach the wing. Or, use a nylon wingnut instead of a regular steel nut. I've used this method for quite a while with no problems as have several others in my club that fly Cubs.

In the end I made a short handled ball driver to put my wings on but I did try to make bolts with the "Screwdriver" handle built in. The experiment worked but I wasn't happy with my ability to tighten the bolts using the built in handles..
The short handled screwdriver is the perfect answer. I just cut an allen wrench to get the driver part.
I'll post photos of both methods.

Easier said then done but yea that would be nice but still on mine the area is sorta boxed in.
Anyhow I think i've found a solution, I used an 8" piece of fuel tubing, the socket head slips onto it tight enough to reach them up into place and spin them in snug, then a final torque with the allen.

a70eliminator, I have a balsa USA 1/4 scale Cub that I built back in the day when it was only around 69 dollars. Don't fly it much because it takes forever trying to attach the wings at the field. It's hard on your back and knees trying to maneuver inside the cabin to tighten the wing bolts. Mine is powered by an OS 120 4 banger with pump. Like you said first wing is easy but that second wing is a battle. I've toyed with the idea of removing the fabric covering and redesigning the wing attach area, maybe with aluminum tubes. It is a nice fun flyer especially shooting landings. Logair
