glazier808,
I have also been in contact with Charlie about my two cracked canopies . It appears that all the canopies NP has in stock are cracked also, Charlie is going to try to get us some from CMP . I sure hope we can get them before the Chinese New Year starts . The factories shut down for around a month for the Chinese New Year or so I've been told. Keepin my fingers crossed.

Lets hope! I bought two kits when they were on sale for $254.00. One of the two had a cracked canopy[:@]....sucks. Lets hope he can get them in. Heck, I'd take two right now lol.
I'll probably pull one of mine out this week and start it. I just picked up the Castle Creations HV 160, and 3305 servos for it today...I'm gonna try really hard not to mod it anymore than needed. I really can't wait to start it.....

This site has spare canopies and they look like they are in stock. I see these go fast. http://ak-models.com/mm5/merchant.mv...gory_Code=SPPT

RE: CMP 80
I used the nitroplanes missing and broken parts forum on here and got one. Have you tried that route?
I bought the canopy from The World models to try theirs and it isn't even close. I wonder if the Yellow canopy would work? I would try it but it is expensive and may not be close either.
This thing flys great, mine was a little heavy at 25lbs.
Good luck with it

RE: CMP 80
Hello guys! Well I'm happy to report that I have been able to start tinkering around with the zero. Got the wing servos all installed and the linkages made. All I have to do is take everything back apart and Loctite everything. I also started doing the cockpit. I still had the bucket for a half cockpit kit for P-40. I never used it. I ended up putting a full kit and it has you guys mostly know. So I was able to get that modified and mounted in the zero pretty easily. Here are a few pictures to show that yes it's actually getting worked on again. Lol.

RE: CMP 80
Made some great progress this weekend. Started and completed the inner door mechanisms to open and close them. Works very smooth no slop now I get to move onto the next step :-)

If anyone has an intact canopy, get with the guy at www.parkflyerplastics.com He can copy the canopy and make new ones that are soooo much better than the chinese offerings.

Your Zero looks really nice! Thanks for sharing the pictures, it could be an inspiration for many people.
How did you make the closing gear doors? Does the mechanism concect with the piston?

Referring to the mains? The inner doors are manual and Close when the arms hit the elo strut. They will be spring-loaded open. Thanks for your compliments

Hey guys how are you all doing :-) well it's been a couple weeks since I've been able to even touch this airplane but this weekend I was able to spend a few hours on it. Pretty much finished with the pneumatic valve for the Retracts

Glad to see you back it. By the way nitro planes is supposed to have a few canopies in stock as they're sending me a replacement this week for mine. Might be worth checking on!
I won't get a chance to work on mine for a while as it's all on a container ship making it's way to Hawaii.

RE: CMP 80
Hey guys palates Tuesday night and I've been tinkering with zero since I got off work. Lol Finished plumbing the retracts system. Installed the air pressure gauge and fill Pitcock. I got everything plumbed And everything should be pretty much vibration proof. If you guys see anything that might need attention let me know now so that way I can prevent a ware spot that would cause a air leak. Enjoy
