Default RE: Jetlegend T-45 Hawk

I was holding my breath during the whole flight waiting for the stall turn...No airspeed at all...also the it was way to much throws on the alerons. I would think if he could do it again he would cut that down and fly it much faster. The smaller Hawks need the airspeed in the turns due the wing loading.

Sorry for the loss. I love the T-45.

...i think the turn was correct. I made several turns without problems.
I felt very comfortable with the plane...

Sorry for your loss, I have seen this many times with the small Hawks, go way back in this thread post 944
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...5-hawk-38.html
You can not slow this model in a turn, it will snap out every time, also a small amount of up ailerons (3 mm or so) will help prevent the tip stall.

Doing some planning here for the fuel tank, i need to figure out how to place it, and if this is good. I will have to make a plate, see my cardboard template, it will allow the tank to sit above the air tanks and not touch them. Need to do some customization on this one.

Bare picture,

Cardboard template, ON the frame brace i will make a piece that this can bolt to so that the plate won't touch the air cans.

Tank sitting on the new cardboard template.

Next to do is order my servos, i'm ordering some spektrum A6150's metal gear and HIGH tq, 4 for the wing & 2 for the elivator.

http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/D...odId=SPMSA6150

I also need to order 3 smaller servos for the air vales, 1 for doors open / closed one for retracts up / down, and one for brakes.

you could probably save a servo by using the behotec retract valve , does the brakes and gear on 1 valve/servo
works in my Ultra flash great

Hey guys sorry to dig up an old thread but I just bought a used one of these here on RCU (thanks Kim )

I have seen PaulsF86 fly and I know they fly good and am familiar with the stall tendency at slow speeds.

I'm curious about some of the structural issues with the model.

the first has to do with the airex stab failure. Mine is the Red Arrows BAE hawk, is there something I can look for that would indicate that I have the recalled Airex stab or the proper conventional built up one?

The other question is the elevator slop issue, mine is just getting shipped out but am curious if jet legend ever changed the design or is it still necessary to upgrade with the Parts that Mike Lin and Rich offered?

Thanks for any feedback!

I'm interested in seeing you purchase a turbine engine and meeting you in Princeton.
The way I see it, you are intrigued! I see you spending more time in the turbine forum over the electric jet forum. One can safely come to the conclusion that you have jet fever. There is only one cure for jet fever! I know what radio you own, can't afford an engine doesn't work ;-)
