Turk,
What has been the experience of your friends who are flying the NGH 35cc as far as muffler breakage and loosening is concerned? Have they also faced the issues and what was the fix ?
When I was trying to wrote, you were seemed not willing to hear.

Thanks Turk, this is actually the place I bought the engine from, and the replacement muffler, but Im not seeing any alternate mufflers on their site for the NGH 35 (the 29.99 one piece?) Looking there reminded me, does anyone have any experience with that 3-leg stand off included? I thought about using it, but it just seems unstable to me, like a three leg table, and/or like it could be a weak link.

Turk,
I was not willing to listen as what you say is opposite to what others are facing. While you say your friends have had no issues, we have had multiple issues (from bolts flying off to mufflers breaking). So what are you guys doing differently?
And just to update I had written to Mr Chow about the muffler breaking off, he informed me that he is no longer associated with NGH and I should write direct to them.
Which I would any way and stake my claim for warranty replacement and see if NGH honours that.

Sad to hear that Mike Chow is no longer involved with NGH. Anybody know what happened there?
This could explain why I have been waiting for parts for about six weeks. When Mike was there parts were never a problem.

So how do we contact NGH now?

Of all the things I have lost over the years I miss my mind the most!

The MVVS and Evolution 35/40 have the same Muffler spacing as the NGH35.

If you are looking for NGH parts, Just Engines in UK have the parts.
I wanted to pick up some parts from Himodels in China, but was told that it might take time (due to reorganization at the factory) and not wanting to wait I got the parts from Just Engines.

This seems to be the norm over there. It always seems to be "the one good guy broke from the establishment to establish a better company, lather, rinse, repeat."
As far as parts go, Agape Racing has had them for me whenever I needed them, but haven't checked in a while.
Will have to check out those MVVS/Evo. motors to see if the ports are the same size. I have an email in to Whackerengines about making the side dump, but no reply yet, have to give him some time to recover from the holiday.

Will wait to hear what you get from Whackerengines. I have ordered another muffler from my local dealer who had one spare lying around. Meanwhile will also try to get the broken one welded and see how long that lasts

There the synthetic 2 cycle oil I'm using to lube the inside when I put in the new piston ring and the new 29.99 muffler which came with bolts and a new Honda cm-6 spark plug lets get it started. Lol

Default RE: NGH 35 CC Gas engine.

Just got a mail from MVVS.
The muffler item number 3271 meant for 35 and 40 cc gas engine is closest fit.
The bolt hole spacing is 40.5mm vs 40mm of NGH
The exhaust opening is 28mm vs 30 of NGH
and 13 mm vs 12mm of NGH
MVVS says that the bolt hole spacing of 40mm can be accommodated. Have written to them to see if they can machine the length to 30mm instead of current 28 and also if it could be reduced from 13 to 12.
If they are not willing to modify the opening length, I suppose dremel work in opening up the length to 30mm should not be big deal and a thin adapter plate to reduce the height of opening from 13 to 12mm should also be doable.
Have a look at the stock muffler here [link=http://www.mvvs.cz/prislusenstvi_e.html]MVVSmuffler[/link]
scroll down to item number 3271 and dimensions are also available.

If this is not suitable then the one of the pictures posted above by Chandley should work fine either in rear or side exhaust configurations

I bought this 35cc engine from AGAPE a few years ago, and have it installed in my 80" WM P-51D...It's great and runs very well. I deadsticked a handful of times and concluded it was installer error- given i didn't have adequate ventillation in that' streamlined nose, and then the muffler came loose. The resolution was simple... It requires plenty of cooling (like any gasoline engine) so I opened the cowl more, and I used plenty thread lock on the muffler bolts given they came loose after several days worth of run time. After that, i've had ZERO problems with the engine.

Another update, looks like there was an error in the mail from MVVS. The sender forgot to write the words "Not" when writing "will modify the muffler". But I think the muffler can be modified to fit the NGH 35cc. But my current bet would be to go with Jim. I have been in touch with him and should get mufflers shipped soon.

NoFlaps,
When my muffler broke on the second flight, I had been running without the cowl. So guess there was plenty of cooling, but yes given the fact that a major portion of the rear mounted muffler is hidden by the head cooling could be an issue with a rear exhaust engine. I would put a baffle when I re install the cowl with a new muffler.

And I am also the bearer of sad news. Mr Pe Reivers, who used to run the MVVS distribution in Netherland passed away some two weeks back. He was such a help in matters of engine. We have lost so much knowledge with passing away. R.I.P Mr, Reivers, you would be missed old man.

Still no word from Whackerengines guy, so if I don't hear back from him by the end of the day I will be emailing Jim at Agape myself.
mchandrayan- you said he should get mufflers shipped soon, does that mean he is waiting for more to come in, or shipped to you? I wonder why they aren't listed on their site?

Just sent Jim an email, hope he gets back to me, unlike the whacker guy, so much for customer loyalty. Im wondering now if I should roll the jug back around to side exit for cooling? Its a round cowl corsair, so it may fit, Im not sure how to do the baffling in this case. I did just do the carb mod to extend the air inlet to the fuel pump. Plan on just using an old pill bottle in the fuse. some where. I'll keep you posted on both.

Just heard back from Jim at agape,

"Hello Jim:
I am loading them on the website now....I ordered US made metric screws for them and I was waiting for the screws to come.
Jim Willis"
Here is the page http://www.agaperacingandhobby.com/v...?productid=510
and I attached the pic so we could talk about it, anyone think there would be a problem with only 1 downtube? For $25 I think its well worth a shot, no?

I too have been thinking whether to continue with rear exhaust configuration or switch back to side exhaust, have not decided yet.
Could you post a pic or two of the carb mod you did?

Just received this from Hi Models after enquiring about various NGH parts I have on order..

According to the contact of last week, they said they are finally resume producing step by step, and hopefully can supply in 1-2 weeks. (but may subject to delay in this situation)

Regards,
Wang
We will see!

It is the fix for the cowl pressure change issue, I noticed some issues on my G26 in the PT17 too, so I will be doing this mod to all my gassers.
Got the Agape muffler on order, now I have an extra new NGH too, but I feel better about this one. I am still curious about the back pressure with only one exit though, perhaps the guts are open with no chambers, etc. We shall see soon!
