RE: New Falcon props and spinners
Anyone know what size the little screws are on these spinners. One of mine was buggered up and I had to slot it to remove it from the spinner. I'd like to buy some extra's to keep on hand.
Thanks,
Todd Schmidt

Having spares of these is essential.

Falcon was putting them on too tight for a while and we have asked them to loosen up a bit. I've had a few that we stripped the heads trying to get off. I found side cutters used carefully works to get off the stripped ones. The CF gives a little and you can if careful get a bite on the head and remove. Mike

I've had that work work and I have had it fail. A few times I made the dremel slot and the head broke on one side. That left me with a bigger problem.
This new way I discovered works great.
I just went thru our whole inventory and fixed about 20 stuck screws so I feel confident that this way works easily.

RE: New Falcon props and spinners
Pressed mine out in a vice. Found a short bolt that was the right size and placed some large washers behind. Popped out pretty easy and then a light sand to fit the Neu prop adapter. They are 2.5mm x 5mm which is used in some of the r/c car stuff.

I just checked. The hub on the prop is too large to fit without some modification to the spinner. It just needs a tad of cutting but be careful not to invade the mounting holes on the side of the spinner or the cooling slots.
The shaft on the Q80 tucks in nicely. The 8mm inserts sometimes need to be shaved down to fit the 8mm shafts. I do it with a taper reamer.
Caution: The 70MM spinners come with or without cooling holes. This is because with some of the larger props cutting them to fit will go into the cooling slots.
All of the stock falcon props fit any of the Falcon spinners.
I hope this helps. Mike

Mount the Advance motor, connect it up and run it slowly while holding a strip of 400 wet/dry with some oil to take the shaft down just a bit.
It will not take much....keep trying to fit the adaptor as you go but clean the shaft before you trial fit it.
The adaptor does not want to be loose....make it a just-right fit.

Hi Joe....don't ream the adaptor.

By the way my 8mm reamers fit perfectly in the Falcon supplied adapter.

it is pretty small so I don't know how you would hold it to ream it anyway.....as far as getting a 10mm adaptor...I suggest calling Jarvis at Maxx Products and ask him. (847) 438-2233
You could also contact Lockhart and see how he does it.

From my experience, the Falcon spinner I had fitted the Advance perfectly.

Don't think I'd be sanding a precision drive shaft over reaming an alloy bush. I'd be pulling the bush out and either reaming it or machining it in a lathe. You could also make a new bush if you have a lathe...

I've done it.....three times....with no problem.
The measurements in a previous post clearly indicate that the Falcon bush/insert/adaptor I/D is undersized and there have been several people in the past mentioning this problem.
Perhaps you got the only spinner with the correct bushing....I have 2 of those spinners and a friend has had 2 more of the Falcon spinners and all had undersized inserts.
I don't have a lathe....and if I did I would not make another insert after paying $72 for it....hahah

Respectfully I disagree. Paying $600+ for a piece of precision German engineering and modifying it over a $72 Chinese (Sacrificial) item makes no sense to me. Everyone to their own though.
Cheers,
Jason.

It is not just me doing it either.
You need to direct your comments towards Jarvis at Maxx Products.
As far as the tone of your comments are concerned.....I can't say on here what I really want.....

Guys since I have everything in front of me I looked into this just now.
What I have in stock with the Falcon spinners fits the Pletty Advance shaft perfectly without modification.
I think Falcon may have opened up the tolerance a tad.
Here are some pictures to back up my claim.
Also the Falcon backplates are made with a 10mm hole. They add an 8mm insert that can easily be punched out.
Thanks, Mike
