Saito 150
I have a Saito 150 and the cylinder case has to be replaced because of the muffler ripped out during a crash. The cylinder has to now be replaced and I'd like to know if there are any special tools needed to remove the valve spring retainer or exactly how's the best way to do it without damaging the springs or valves. There are little clamps holding the valves on top of the springs that I'm concerned about.
Thanks

RE: Saito 150
I have a YS 110 I bought used that was in a crash, not sure if the damage was done in the crash or the header was torqued into the cylinder too tight or if it was loose and vibrated but Mr. Lee did the repair on the engine. Outstanding repair job and I have been using the engine for two years without a problem. He also repaired another one of my engines that I over torqued the regulator screw on, 10 years later and it is still working great.
Mr Lee taught a bunch of us kids to tune an engine when I was about 13 when he was still designing the K&B engines. Very nice guy.
To repair the YS he drilled out the old threads and installed a brass nut with the standard header threads on the inside. I think the threads in the nut are much stronger then the stock aluminum threads.
