Default BUSA Fokker Dvii

Hey guys, I am in the process of building a Dvii from BUSA. I had originally thought of putting a G-38 in it, as most I have seen have. But I have a chance at getting a US41 and was wondering if that would be just as good???

The big thing is to see how it fits. The G38 fits and adds plenty of extra HP for the type of plane. I would think the US41 has been used by someone.

People have been putting motors up to a DA 50 in the 1/4 Fokker d7 for quite awhile.
I have a Poulan 46cc converted in mine, its a pretty good combo. If you were building a really light film covered model a 38cc will probably be ok. However if you are using fabric and adding lots of scale details I would go bigger on the motor. Mine is on the heavy end at 26 pounds, and flies incredible.

Also I had heard a few stories that the light weight Balsa USA builds with smaller sized motors could get in trouble if the winds come up. these planes are real draggy with a headwind, that extra power helps climb, and penetrate the wind..

You will LOVE the D7, it flies amazing.
