Hitec Eclipse 7 2.4GHz
When I move the gas and rudder control stick, the module makes beep sound and flashing blue.
This does not happen every time.
Have two aircraft with two receivers. The problem is only in one plane.
What is it that makes the beep sound and light blue?

RE: Hitec Eclipse 7 2.4GHz
The problem is probably a RX battery that is low or is too small for the # of servos you have etc. Or you could have a servo that is binding or overdriving the surface.
The module has a RX voltage monitor that can be set to selected RX voltage warning. When you bang the sticks around the servo loads increase and drop the battery voltage.
See the Hitec web site for info. You can set the voltage warning level but you need the Hitec HP-22 and HP-22 software to do it.
I don't have my Exclipse 7, 2.4 anymore as Iconverted to the A9 but it always worked great.
Good luck

RE: Hitec Eclipse 7 2.4GHz
I really cannot give you good advice on LIPO. I would be cautious since 2s fully charged would be near 8 volts and Ido not know what Rx and servos you are using. Some can take 6 volts, some cannot. First thing I would do is make sure there is no binding or overtravel of your thottle and rudder links and servos as this may be the problem and you could fix that by just reducing the end point (EPA) at your transmitter or fixing any binding.
Do you know what voltage is going to your RX when you have all sticks at neutral and then at full thows? Also you would need to check the 2.4 module low voltage alarm setting but you need an HP-22 to do that.

In the case of EP models, it is best to use 4 x new Alkaline cells in the battery holder provided

If never updated to the tlatest firmware, then the module will only perform as under the
old instructions contained post #13:
"b. For other TX with Spectra 2.4 Ghz Module
- after installing the module on the transmitter, press and hold the button on the module,
turn on the transmitter, then release the button.
TX must be in PPM mode, will not bind if TX left in QPCM/PCM mode. Red LED will flash while it is searching for a receiver.
c. Press and hold the button on the receiver, turn on the receiver, red LED is on solid, release the button on the receiver.
Solid red and blue LED emits indicate it is linked with the module.
d. Solid red LED and blinking blue LED on the module indicate when the linking process is completed.
e. Turn Receiver Off First then Transmitter Off Last.
f. Turn Transmitter On First, red LED is solid on the module.
g. Turn Receiver On Last, red LED is solid, after a moment, when both module and receiver connected,
module will beep 4 times.
h. You should now have control over the model as the transmitter module and receiver are linked in Normal Mode."
If module has been updated then follow the instructions under the qick reference page.

RE: Hitec Eclipse 7 2.4GHz
Think I've found problem. 1of the 5 pins where the modual plugs in is pushed half way in . The modual is not making good contact. Is this model of radio worth sending in for repair?

Talk to Hitec Service/Support at www.HITECRCD.COM or call them. Hitec is very good on service and they will probably tell you a $ cost upfront. Also if it is pushed pin someone here may have done that repair and can advise you.
The Eclipse 7 is a great radio, Ihad two of them for 10 years unitl Igot Aurora 9.
Good luck.

RE: Hitec Eclipse 7 2.4GHz
Iforgot to mention that if you get it fixed but decide to get a new radio you can always sell the Eclipse on E-Bay and get some $. In 2010 Ihad no problems selling both my Eclipse 7s on E-Bay. One had the 2.4GHZ module conversion.
Have fun.

RE: Hitec Eclipse 7 2.4GHz
But now really good ones would go for $75-100 around here with a module. It is a tricky situation. Someone here resoldered Optic 6 pins but they didn't last more than 2 years. The fact that they went on his and the repair didn't last might be a reflection on how it was treated. Yours might last with a simple fix!
