Default 50cc Pattern airframe

Wanted: 50cc pattern ARF airframe. I have a AW Extra 260 and Pilot Sbach 342 now. Looking for airframe like the pros are competing with using YS 170 engines, low wing, fixed gear but designed compatible to 50cc gas engine. I refuse to go back to nitro but miss the competition pattern airframes.

Thanks for your ideas.

ANYCurrent 2 meter pattern plane can be powered with the OS GT33 with ESComposites pipe. Buy a soft mount from Hyde (I also make and sell avery similar soft mount but at half the weight)and you can have as competitive a set-up in regular pattern events as ANYTHING flying today. Make weight no sweat and fly more economically than anything flying today.....Practically maintenance free too....

If you're looking for pattern type performance in a sport package, don't forget about Great Planes 50cc Reactor.

I have a World Models (I think) patternish plane in this size. At least the covering description sounds similar. Never assembled, something I got in a trade, sits in a closet waiting for me to get rid of it as I have no interest in it. I forgot the name of it but it's a 2003 -2005 era plane. Free or awful cheap would be my price. Frank, if you're ever in the Atlanta area, let me know.

Matt, is the OS GT 33 a 50cc engine?
Frank, No..... it's a 33cc gasoline engine that performs better than any other 30cc class engine andfairly close tosome of the 50cc engines. My main point is that any current legal airframe can be set-up with it and it will perform as well as the best electrics and the YS170-175 glow fuel powered models.

Of couse if your heart is set on the larger plane, different story. The OS will do fine there too but would be so tail heavy that it would be impractical. You'd need a pound of nose weight to balance.

If you decide to go with the larger model, let me suggest a DLE55, ESComposites 55G pipe, Merle's or my soft mount, and a Mezjlik 20x12 3 bladed carbon prop. Lots of power and electric like quiet. I have one of my current models equipped that way. It's a terrific combo
