Probably...I was going to go through it anyway after I stripped it so that didn't matter to me. I got nothing but time.....maybe I'll find a used one

I am working in this model too, and I thinking in change the canopy for give a diferent shape to the nose. What do you think over this ?
I did just that with a smaller, scratch built version.

Eurosport canopy & added intakes. I cannot post a pick because that f&%*@#!! 500 server error business is happening again. [:@]

Update! Pic upload working again!

Vinny,
I had that issue when doing the proto. I went full power and it headed straight DOWN!!... I shimmed the back of motor UP about 1/4" and it took it out. 3" is good enough for landing... For now, just shim motor than try again..... Let me know how it does after that..... I think you will be better.... If ballooning still there ad 1/4" down elev.

I know this is a old tread

but has anyone come up with a proper no tbm retracts set that is longer for this. where any updates put into this plane as of now. thought about one of these arfs but sounded like
there maybe more issue's with it than its worth.?

There are a couple different ones you can use. You can buy Robarts or Sierrea retracts...
Both will set the jet up higher than the TBM ones..

High Gents,

I am building one of the last DV8R`s. The kit I recently bought from Gene.
Unfortunately the clear canopy was damaged while transported, so I am looking for a new or used part. Does anyone have one spare for sale? Can´t get a new one - unfortunately.

Will pay via paypal.

I went to Westlake hardware and bought a stiffer spring. They have hundreds of different types. I took gear apart and took spring with me.

You can put a spacer to compress the springs a bit. You lose some travel however

Yep, I have done all of that when I did all the testing. The solution was a heavier spring all together.
I will post pictures tonight of the landing gear. As you saw, Robart has them... you just gotta special order.

Altecare rc has struts that are very similar. They may have stronger springs. You may check with them.

on a side note on landing, CROW Mixing tames the landing down. I was ready to sell mine until i tried crow.
