Awesome!  It looks like we are up to 10-12 AMA, at least that I know of, 5-6 of whom will also fly Classic.  (May be more pre-registered or local PA guys planning to fly their classic birds than I am aware of.)  Thanks for letting us know as we are planning well for a smooth contest for both AMA and CPA classes.

Got to see the 2nd training session for club judges today at the airfield: They were observing demo flights of all the classic sequences as a follow-on to their first class on Monday evening covering the rules of the period.  The club is doing a terrific job of updating folks and encouraging pilots to give pattern a try, or return to the fold, as it were.

We flew practice flights most of the day, AMA and Classic, and spent some quality time with CD Dale going over the details for next weekend.  With the clear weather, I was able to get my first practice flight in at 8am sharp without sun glare issues: I have recommended to Dale that, weather permitting, we hold the pilot's meeting at 9am sharp and get the first AMA class into the air by 9:30 at the latest.  We are also discussing in great detail the scheduling options to alternate the AMA and Classic rounds to maximize flying for our guest contestants, and keep things moving as efficiently as expected for any modern two day pattern contest, right up to a prompt conclusion on Sunday so folks have time to drive home.

Please continue to pre-register with Dale if coming as he has fully implemented the NSRCA software for the contest and will be ready to roll next Saturday morning. Please post any questions or suggestions. Thanks all!

The weather forecast for Friday and the weekend is terrific!  I will be at the LVRCS field Friday afternoon with Dale to line the box and practice.

PLEASE NOTE: If driving through central NJ, may want to avoid US-22 and stick to I-78 to PA-33, per the following announcement
Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge/US 22 westbound & eastbound approaching Mid-Span in Easton/Phillipsburg. 1 lane open...

Many thanks to LVRCC club for the use of their field for the contest

Dale and Dana and the membership did a great job, especially when considering they held a contest that included vintage and AMA clases at the same time

The vintage planes were a real eye opener for me as I never saw them before today. WE have come a long way in pattern flying

again thanks

Special thanks go to AMA District III VP Mark Radcliff, and NSRCA District 1 VP Jeff Hatton, for judging so many rounds of pattern competition: thanks guys, your extra efforts in the heat was hugely appreciated! Special thanks also to recent past NSRCA President Jim Quinn for so much help yesterday and in the monthspreceding! I also wish to thank my caller Bob Moulder for his excellent support and taking an extra turn in the chair, thanks man! Dale, Andy, you guys rock. We have some learnings towards next year, looking forward to lunch. Great job LVRCS!

Dana, many thanks to you and Dale and the LVRCS club members who put together and ran a great event.

It was very cool seeing the vintage models in action! I wish I had the time and storage space to take on a Classic Pattern model, but even though I am retired it seems I am already 'overbooked' with life events!
