Default Looking for 40 amp ESC with reverse

I'm looking for a 40 amp ESC with reverse at a reasonable price. I purchase one from HobbyKing but it didn't work and all I got was an instore credit but alas it also didn't work. so now I'm kind of turned off on ESCs from China but, if I can get some goodfeedback hereI might reconsider.

Boring devices, they just sit there and work.

Thanks mfr02 but I messed up.  I need a BRUSHLESS esc. I'm new at building RC boats and when I built my boat it looked to me that brushless was the way to go but it appears I was wrong.  I can find both brushed motors and ESCs for a very reasonable price but  not the brushless ones.  So I need a brushless ESC.  By the way while I have yor attention do you know why it appears most boats use brushed motors?

Brushed technology has been around for about 150 years.  We are getting used to it
Its easier to work with, since all of the components can be tested separately - brushless needs all the bits there and fully working.
As you have noticed, not many makers of brushless controllers have much idea about the requirements of model boats.

Thanks Again mfr02. Well I've kind of committed to the brushless system for this boat so i'm still looking for a brushless ESC. I think i may have found one but i'm a little leary because it comes from a company in China. The last company, Hobbyking, wasterrible.the ESC didn't work in reverse, I had to pay to send it back and then only got an instore credit. So I ordered another one, had to pay the shippingand of course that didn't work either.I'm now looking at a Hobbywing Seaking 35A ESC. So have you ordered anything from China? If so which company?

As you might guess, I am inclined to stick with brushed.  I have bought a few bits n pieces from PRC, the latest being some small "10A" ESCs. While I would not trust the !0A claim as far as I could throw the PRC, largely based on the thin wire and small connectors, the items work respectably well and turned up rapidly.  Can't remember the company name, unfortunately.  If I wanted more I would have to hunt through ESCs on fleabay again and hope I recognized the picture.

Here is one that seems to be in a few RTR boats. They only have a 35a and a 60a and it has reverse.  Value Hobby is a good place to buy from if you have problems.
