Hi Ola, it looks like the stabs on your two Arixtras are at a slightly different position with slightly different elevators. Do you notice any difference between the two? They both look fantastic well done!

The one from last year was build from a basic-kit, ie. I had to sheet the foam-cores myself, cut out the control surfaces etc. The good thing about doing it myself is that I can hand-pick the wood and thus the older one is lighter by about 150g (5.2oz). They behave slightly different, but if that is due to the stab. position, controlsurface differences, different weights, different sanding of leading edge or whatever, is hard to tell. Most likely it is a combination of it all. Anyhow they both fly rather excellent, andI hope to bring them both to WC in SouthAfrica in August.

Here are our three Arixtras. The Seahawk themed bird is electric while the other two are Ys-185 CDI powered. I like the ys more as the extra momentum helps carry this airplane with speed. Once I'm finished with the USA bird I will experiment with fing fences on the electric as she has a tendancy to tip stall when slowed down. The electric weighs 4850g with 1300g batteries and the ys birds weigh just a little over 4600g.

Well done Claude. Really like the look of your built up wing panels. I also am heading down that path on my Delta. Am in process of completing the stab halves this week and will soon start on the wings. Rib spacing on the stab is 1.6 inches (10 ribs each side)

What rib spacing did you use on the wing? What was the weight savings over sheeted foam?

Hello Matt

Rib spacing is 50 mm.
Build up is about 80 g (2.8 oz) lighter than sheeted foam.
It is possibel to be more light with less ribs, balsa sheets 1,5 m (0.06 ") instead of 2 mm (0.08 ")

I think 50mm spacing is ok same with 2mm ribs , if its to fragile its almost impossible to handel the plane
